What would be so awful that Achronos would actually nuke the Flood?
How could we actually piss him off that bad?

Porch Day 2.0. I mean a real Porch Day 2.0, not like five or six retards. And with parodies allowed, it would have to be worse than the original. Think days or even weeks of nonstop parody threads, basically making discussion impossible and burying the first dozen or so pages of threads. That or a major attack by a group like /b/. I'm not sure he even can nuke the Flood anymore, though. The forums we knew before are gone. The mains are all one big forum now, sorted using the hashtag system. To "nuke" it would entail closing down the whole main forum, and since bans now keep you from posting in groups, probably the entire Bnet community. But, really, why would Achronos even bother? He has already broken the Flood. The old personality and reputation it had was destroyed when the moderators decided rules were no longer a thing, and it lost it's name. The Flood only lives on in the attitudes and spirits of the people who experienced it in it's most glorious days. Eventually, Destiny will launch, and it will bring in a mass influx of new members who won't even know what the Flood was. They'll never really understand what came before. Veterans will also leave over time, grow older or just get fed up with the direction of things. And so where once the Flood stood proud as a symbol of Bnet's community (remember some folks suggested making an offsite Flood for regulars if the shit hit the fan?), Offtopic will eventually stand as a symbol of misguided attempts at progress. And that's where the Flood dies. When people forget about it. I don't think anyone expected it to happen that way. It seemed realistic to expect Achronos to snap, maybe after seeing one too many comically hostile posts or a bad spam attack. More realistic, though, that eventually the forum would just eventually drop in population and popularity until it became inactive and dead. But that's not what's going to happen. The Flood will die as it fades from memory, slowly being replaced in the minds of the forumgoers by Offtopic. It goes without saying how sad it makes me to know people will forget things like Porch Day, Cena and even Ming=Blown. Hell, even the death of the Girl Thread is saddening in a way.

The Flood was nuked when this site was rebuilt. The way I see it, with all due respect, is that Bungie believes their new game is going to make their website more popular than reddit, because that seems to be what the redesign was based off of. Their theory seems to be that hash tags will help the masses of destiny fans find answers to their gaming questions, meanwhile killing private groups and any sense of community (threads within threads and out-of-order replies). Maybe I'm naive and I'm often wrong... But that's how it feels to me.

I remember when everyone thought that he was actually going to nuke the Flood, and were preparing to move to the Classifieds. I find it funny that in a way he kind of nuked both.
