Once, not long ago in a clan I used to be in here on bungie.net, I made a thread that housed links to all important threads for the group. A table of contents if you will.
I just recently thought about applying that organizational strategy here. I think forming an index or table of contents of our own that included links to the stories here in the Black Garden would serve as a convenient means of finding and accessing the writings of our authors on a "global" level rather than local, like a few of us have already done.
I actually attempted to start one last night but was confronted with the sheer number of stories. More specifically, the stories that do not have a source thread that documents each chapter's link occupy a lot of the character space.
So if this is a direction of organization you want to take, please inform me below. And if you are an active member here would you mind creating a thread that houses links to your story's chapters/parts to minimize the number of links listed in the index? Assuming you don't have one and we decide to proceed with this course of action.
Tell me what you think of this idea. Do you want your story included or not? If not, please state your reason. If you would, please discuss this topic so we can better serve our community's members, new and old alike.
Also, if we decide to make a thread like this, I propose it be made an announcement so it remains easily accessible by the community. We don't want the thread intended to help people find stories get buried deep in our forums.
Thank you.

Edited by Eterteeter: 9/11/2014 12:17:47 AMI thought someone tried to do this before, but it went nowhere. Once I start writing more, I'll make sure to make a Table of Contents. If you need any assistance, I'll be glad to lend a hand.

Speaking from my perspective; if whoever puts this list together takes advantage of the ToC-esque threads that already exist the workload could be reduced considerably. How would it be organized? By title, similar to films or by author, more along the lines of printed works? What happens if an author changes their username (more than once)? Would the stories unrelated to Destiny also be included and, if yes, how would they be denoted? If a special system, or at least on that makes sense, is used how can it be fortified against exploitation? Then there're the stories undergoing maintenance, revision, or reimagining that could throw any attempts out of whack, how will they be addressed? The as of yet unwritten ones pose a problem as well, will they be included amidst the others or be delegated to their own section? As for length a google/word document housed on a cloud based access anywhere service would be the best because they allow for better editing potential. I'm just pointing out a couple holes so this boat'll float.
