I'm new to this forum, however I just wanted to share an idea (or two/couple lol) for those who have something like DestinyTracker or the like, which helped numerous of us get to end-game content like Lv30 (regardless of how you killed Atheon :D) and those ridiculous (albeit challengingly fun) farming runs on Mars and the other planets. However, as a Cloud Engineer currently, I wanted to suggest something to those who are doing these great things: take the maybe hour or so to create an OpenStack Cloud on an extra PC (doesn't have to be beefcake unless you need copious storage for db's, even then, 3TB Hdds are stupid cheap) using http://www.ubuntu.com/cloud/openstack (and http://www.ubuntu.com/cloud/tools/maas for a relatively quick start going bare-bones -> up and running). Granted, this assumes you have a common ability to read through (and not skip) steps and pay attention to what you're doing, learning about this as well. What's Needed: Ubuntu Openstack Cloud and MaaS (links previously given) PC that has decent storage (1+TB would do unless you have copious amounts of data like DestinyTracker or DestinyDB) Relatively basic knowledge on Linux commands or how to use this thing someone told me is called Google. No idea what it is. How to follow directions on a page (lol? :D) How to *gasp, i know again* Google something if it doesn't work right off the bat A super cheap website name (GoDaddy or whatever you feel like) Once the "cloud" from the above links is created, spin up a virtual machine (VM), grab mysqllite3 (i believe thats the package) from yum for your DB, and Apache web server dependencies (httpd). Throw a GUI on the VM, deploy the web server with whatever name you want to connect to the outside world, lock down the web server locally on the VM with SE Linux permissions (ton easier in GUI vs CLI if you're newish to Linux commands, but to each his/her own), and a few other tidying up things and you should be good to rock and roll. Note: if you've not messed w/ Linux before, this could take you longer than others, but that's why Google is fricken amazing :D Ideas: For those of us who've done the runs (repeatedly for hours on end) on the Moon - helium filaments fml, Mars - relic iron, Venus - Spirit effing Bloom, maybe make a top-down view of say, the Mars section with where the chests are. Also, the RIGHT way to run the "Gauntlet" so to not screw others who are farming (i.e. you're running the chest run CORRECTLY, yet some dingle berry runs the OPPOSITE direction you are, messing up chest spawns. If someone undertaking this, I'll try and grab screenshots of where I've seen things spawn in Mars and other 2 planets hopefully this week (busy work week lol). I like the idea on the main Bungie page the DestinyTracker guy had with Faction Progress and the like. Sometimes it's a real pain to run all the way to the respective faction leader to see your progress...especially if you're deciding what bounties / strikes to do so u can get that lv2 (for armor) and lv3+ for the free weapon (some got shards lolol). Just an idea. Hope all this helps the community. Alot of people cry about things that they want changed here and now. But i think they need to remember, Bungie is a company, regardless of what the people want, there are always things that need to be discussed vs willy nilly changes being made on a whim. thanks. -WK
