I have been a lurker in this group for some time now. I wanted to introduce myself and let you know about some news that is just around the corner.
My name is Paul Tidwell, and I am the Engineering Lead for Bungie.net. We have been working on making the Bungie.net Platform API’s officially supported. Achronos nominated this group as the official place for platform related announcements and conversation.
Keep an eye out for an announcement with more details in the coming days.

Hi Paul, If you have no objections I'd like to promote you to an admin role.

Edited by Tetron: 10/15/2014 5:45:08 PMUpdate: There are a few details we need to finish up before we formalize the public API access. In order to set your expectations, here is what is coming: - All of our API's that do not require authentication will be lightly documented. Basically, this means the input parameters and the API's purpose and function will be described. You will still need to depend on your ingenuity and specific questions in this group to figure out the responses. - We will distribute API keys you can include in your requests so we can get a better idea how various apps are using our API's. It also gives us the ability to reach out developers should their app be creating undue stress on our system. - We will ask you to agree to a license agreement as an API consumer, similar to the agreement you already made when you created your Bungie.net account. - My team will monitor this group and answer questions about the API to the best of our ability. We will continue to rely on the community to answer many questions. - We do not have a solution for authenticated requests. There is nothing coming that will enable you to sign a user in and access API's that are only available to authenticated users.

FYI: I'm still around too, I just seem to spend my time lately with lower level stuff like perf, security and infrastructure.

I'm glad this group was mentioned in the recent community spotlight article. I had no idea that an API consumption agreement was going to be required or that any of this was going on. Has it gone into place yet?

Still waiting, and praying =D I've done a small bit of dabbling in the Bungie.net/Platform, but... man is it difficult to use! Although I have to say its WAAYYYY more indepth than I ever suspected it could be. I realize you have to keep certain things kept pretty hush, but are you able to give us any information as to exactly what your hoping to support and what sort of timeframe we're looking at? or, any information at all really? Ever since Destiny came out and I saw the website/Legends, I've been desperately trying to figure out how to do my own stats, and I'm also planning on building a website for my clan, detailing all sorts of weird and wonderful stats, such as who has the more kills, who has completed the most strikes, and raids, who has died the most, who has destroyed the most Fallen/Vex/etc.. =D (This game really is a statistically minded person's dream, you know that right?!) Look forward to your reply! =D P.S Thanks for your contribution into what has to be the most awesome game I've ever played =D now, you've just gotta keep up the hard work for many years to come! =D

This sounds promising, any news?

Awesome! Can't wait to hear more about what's coming up in the APIs so I can improve my app (bit.ly/destinystats) :)
