Hi all! I’m xbox one, lvl 26 hunter (gunslinger subclass leveled up completely, working on bladedancer now), new monarchy lvl 3.
One reason I chose to join NM in the game is because of the red gear and the fact that it’s associated with monarchy, which just sounds bad ass. Also, as you may or may not know, NM gear boosts intellect and strength. This has worked out great for hunter gunslinger, as it significantly shortens the load time for the golden gun and the throwing knives (and I use both consistently in the crucible with a lot of success). I’m yet to see how it’s going to work out for the bladedancer.
I have been getting my NM rep by doing the following:
• I bought the NM class item when I was at lvl 20, and I always wear it. Although, I believe the earliest you can buy the faction class item is lvl 18.
• Since I’m always wearing the NM class item, I do not get any Vanguard or Crucible rep, but here is the NM rep that I get:
o 10 for crucible loss
o 25 for crucible win
o 10 for every story mission (I think?)
o 10 for patrol mission
o 50, 75, or 100 for bounties
o 25 for lvl 24 strike playlist (12 and 14 rep for lvl 20 and 22, respectively)
o 150 for weekly heroic strike
• I am constantly going back to the tower to get bounties (which update daily), and it is key to work on these all the time to quickly supplement your NM rep. The following bounties are especially excellent to get:
o Any that say to kill someone on a specific mission with heroic modifier. Sometimes the bounty is filled before the mission ends and you can simply cancel the mission and go collect. 50 or 100 NM rep, 10-25 minutes.
o Any that say to complete 5 fill-in-the-blank crucible matches. It counts whether you win or lose and you can fill other crucible bounties at the same time. Also, you’ll get the NM rep from winning or losing. Minimum 150 rep (if you lose all 5 matches), max 225 rep (if you win all 5), 50-60 minutes.

I got dead orbit to two for their armor and I'm working on NM towards 3 for the weapons. Didn't actually check their armor stats.

thanks for the info!

Yeah, it reminds me of a strong adage from SWTOR - "Thou shalt do thy dailies". So maybe Destiny should have "Thou shalt do thy bounties". I like to use the NM class item for PvE content, but I don't wear it for PvP because I've got my eye on an awesome Class 3 Crucible item: the Fair and Square pulse rifle. Although you might want to save those marks for when the Iron Banner becomes active too. Look me up if you want to tackle the Heroic weekly strike or get that Clan achievement. GT: Stoiker Kalei
