I concur. While something like a wall is good for "immediate needs" posting ("I'm forming a group RIGHT NOW."), anything that has to last more than a few minutes simply gets lost. It's impossible to plan things out, find old conversations, etc. For those that miss the wall, I suggest just adding a lot of friends (go to DadsofDestiny.net/members, select the criteria you want, then add 40-50 people) one night. That way, when you log on for the evening, you can see everyone that is on. You can quickly send a group message to all DoDers that are online playing Destiny asking if they want to join a team. It's not quite perfect, but it's pretty easy to put together 3-6 people if you send the message to 10+ ppl. The reason this is a good thing is that we'll have more information in fewer places. Check the Dod.net site, check the couple of Bungie.net DoD Clan sites, and you're good. And, I believe that we can slowly (or quickly, if fortune smiles upon us!) move more towards the DoD.net site as the main place to look. There are a lot of places there other than the forum that can be used. In fact, I think there is a shoutbox there that can be utilized in the same manner as the wall was used here.
