Swordbearing 101

In CE I sometimes feel a bit useless when we've got plenty of people doing DPS and boomer duty but it's the same question over and over: who is going to be the swordbearer. In VoG I am usually the relic holder and would like to learn swordbearing as well. I've picked it up couple of times after initial swordbearer has died but at that chaotic moment with Oversoul it hasn't worked out as the team didn't take down Crota. So, anyone have any tips on how to be the best ninjaswordplayer in the world? (Say 'in the world' with a Clarksonian accent.)

  • I've also heard that being a hunter is recommended. How important is this? I'm a titan myself and consider my self as quite good on platforming. Any particular issues with a titan being the swordbearer?

    • I'm surprised this question comes up, everyone should be experienced with the sword considering... the 'fist of crota' mission allows you to practice using the sword and there are Eris bounties that tie in nicely with killing him and using the sword. Other than that I guess one could practice jumping onto the rocks prior to to triggering the crota encounter?
