Edited by astro_kyser: 8/5/2015 10:56:29 AMCozmo posted this on bungie and reddit, with regards to current items
There is a lot of new info in that article which I'm sure raises a lot of questions.. When DeeJ and the away team get back from gamescom next week we will share our plan for a series of Twitch events that will answer these questions. So you might hold off on dismantling anything until you have all of the info. Soon...
For me this is a good thing. As much as I love my FB, VoC etc I don't want to use the same weapons forever. The game needs to move forward and let go of the past. In regards to etheric light the cynical side of me would say that this was tactic to compensate for the lack of content in HoW. But then ascending FB etc is very welcome for PoE 34/35. However, I would not dismantle anything yet, certainly not raid gear - might be some more info coming we don't know about. -
Because HOW had very little to do pve wise bar a repetitive horde mode i guess. They invented yet another currency for pve players to keep them involved knowing that such a system really should have been in the first expansion. Seems very much like they cut all the completed content into pieces and spread it over the vanilla and 2 dlcs, focussing just on having enough to do in each rather than any cohesive sequencing strategy.

Edited by FaarCrow: 8/4/2015 9:18:42 PMCause that's pretty much all there is to aim for besides trials gear until TTK comes ;) Welcome to the MMO gear grind (even if they refuse to call it that)! Honestly the etheric light system was just a band aid temporary solution until they were able to redo the whole weapon & armor progression system. They're also removing the character levels based on light, it will all be based on character xp levels which is an overhaul of the current leveling system which I'm happy to hear :) http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2015/08/04/september-2015-the-taken-king-89056.aspx http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2015/08/04/destinys-year-one-legendary-weapons-staying-behind-in-year-two-9432.aspx http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2015/08/04/destiny-the-taken-king-redesigns-leveling-from-one-to-forty-4682.aspx
