Hi Dads, quick question.
I was wondering, as a bit of a noob to online multiplayer, what the accepted protocol is to join a fireteam. I have no mike, by the way. Comments?

Most folks I know say just jump in, having a mic will improve your experience, but at the least have this app open next to you so you can message the fire team?

I'd say it's definitely worth considering getting a mic. as it's not only useful for co-ordinating but also adds to the fun! That said - I've yet to meet anyone from DoD who has an issue with anyone jumping on a Fireteam - after all, if someone does want to play alone (maybe levelling a new character through the story missions) then they can always set the Fireteam to invite only. Jump on - kick ass - have fun!

Feel free to join in if im on bud. Mic or no mic though as Dev says having one does make it easier. You will definitely need to be able to talk to team mates if you ever try the Raids. Anyway catch u online dude MegaWarMonkey

its difficult if you dont have a mic, normally we will have a party going on the ps4 where people chat so you wont hear the conversation going if you join the fireteam. for myself anyway if i'm in the tower, out on patrol, doing normal strikes or crucible and there is free space feel free to join any time. psn messaging service is a bit rubbish but that can also be used if you're looking for help with something specific, or otherwise invite people to your fireteam
