It's a new year so it's time to revisit the age old question. Which transmission do you prefer? Do you prefer to put it in drive and go or do you prefer to row your own? I prefer manual. I like the feel better and I enjoy having the control.

It's a good skill to have if you're used to driving manual.

I drive manual transmission on motorcycles, but I'm not sure how much I'd like it on a car. I've never tried. I'm sure I would grow to love it just like I have on the motorcycle. I don't know anyone that owns a manual so it's kind of hard for me to practice it.

I'd prefer a manual but can only drive automatic. Doesn't matter though cuz my car is still a beast.

For a car that's purely transportation, I'd prefer an automatic. Other than that, manual all the way.

I prefer a manual, but for the time being I have an automatic with a select shift option. It just isn't the same.

It depends entirely on what I am driving. Older vehicles and something I will be going offroad in, I would prefer manual. My parents had an old manual Jeep CJ5 before, and also a manual Suzuki Samurai. I had a 2000 Jeep Cherokee with an automatic transmission last year and it was not as enjoyable, although I still loved it. In a newer car that I am going to just be driving around town, I prefer an automatic.
