Really?
Is it because they loath American cars that much?
Are Corvettes too brutish and uncivilized for their tastes?
Or are they just too privileged that they see these as a down grade to their daily drivers?
I have no idea what soccer players get paid. I don't watch it. But his just seemed to be unusual to me.

"Well, my car is right here, it has all my stuff in it and it belongs to me." Sure, it's a free car, but I don't think these big name soccer players are short on funds. They probably bought their cars knowing they could have bought anything else.

Kinda sad

Maybe because the cars aren't good? Maybe because they earn enough money to buy better cars for themselves? Or maybe some players actually drive these cars (Mata, Evans and De Gea) but the media choose to ignore these players in order to create a story and rally public opinion against footballers.

Soccer players blow baseball players out of the water money wise, to give a perspective for Americans, and Baseball players are some of the highest paid athletes in the world. They're rich enough that they're more interested in owning a status symbol, something a commoner can't easily afford, and any kind of 'Merican muscle is the opposite of that. Our pony cars/sports cars are pretty affordable to the masses, whereas most European equivalents are definitely made with more exclusivity in mind.

We drive on the other side of the road and corvette do not make right hand drive versions.
