What are some cars that you think are underrated. I personally think the 04-06 Pontiac GTO also known as the Holden Monaro is underrated. The looks weren't the best I agree but I don't think it looked terrible. It was good enough looking. It handled well and was nice to drive. Plus it came with LS engines which are some of the best engines ever made. They're bit of a cult car now, and I'm sad not more people like them. I think that's due to GM using the GTO name on them. I think they'd be better remembered, if GM would have named them differently. Either way the GTO is still a car that nobody really gives a thought to and is a great performer.

Audi R8. Who says, I would rather have an R8 over a 488, Huracan, 570s, 675LT, 720s, 911 R, Dodge Challenger Hellcat or Demon, Nissan GTR, Ford GT, NSX, Viper, California, and GT-S?

Lol it may be underrated in the USA but it's a very popular car in Australia and so is it's 4 door brother the commodore, hell having a commodore is practically a prerequisite for being a bogan they are bloody everywhere.

Edited by Zonda: 4/15/2017 5:20:54 PMR32 Skylines, GTR or otherwise, are greatly overshadowed by their R34 counterparts (except that shitbox GXi lmao). I don't think they're disliked so much as forgotten about. The GTR basically had Group A by the balls. It's a pity the formula was abolished after the dominance. I think it had the potential to spark an automotive arms race that would've seen some absolutely bonkers road cars by the 2000s. You can pick an R32 GTR up for roughly half the price of a 34 if you look in the right spot, and my god the RB26 is a stupid engine, especially considering they were pioneered almost 30 years ago. The N1 can produce and handle 850hp with only modifications to the fuel flow and boost pressure.

I read the title as 'Underrated Cats.' Now all I can think about are unpopular but awesome breeds of cats.

Got to talking about this with a buddy, and there were a few cars that came up...most notably the Cadillac Cimarron. It was a slap in the face for Caddy lovers, with no justification for being pricier than the other early J body cars - but the J body cars are actually pretty decent despite the hate they get. Having one now would be great, and you could likely find one in half decent shape for dirt cheap. Several other cars were also discussed, but the likes of the original Corrola and civic have followings, as did the others we talked about as maybe not having the appreciation due to them. Also, none of them inspired as much debate or daydreaming. How hard would you get laughed at for swapping a bunch of Z24 goodies into a Cimarron? You'd end up with an ugly little runt of a sedan, quicker than half the cars on your block between lights that would utterly rot away before it ever broke down mechanically...and even if something did fail, parts would be readily available and really...the whole damn car can be torn down in a driveway with basic hand tools in an afternoon.

Edited by FightinFinn 2-7: 4/13/2017 6:52:36 PMWell they made it look kind of like a grand prix on roids because back in the 60's the grand prix and the GTO look almost identical. The modern Grand Prixs are underpowered and ugly so the latter was passed on to the modern GTO. http://momentcar.com/images/1964-grand-prix-1.jpg http://www.allmusclecars.com/pontiac/am64gtodf1.jpg I do like the 06 GTOs though! http://www.pro-touring.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=48513&d=1312249206
