I'm superhyped for Destiny, but I kind of made the mistake with overhyping and expecting so much from Halo 4. I love Halo 4, except there is just way too many flaws with it. Don't get me started on the loadout system and the weapon balance in multiplayer. Anyways, do you think Bungie will be able to accomplish a spectacular feat with Destiny? How do you think Destiny and Bungie will turn out?
Do you think Destiny will at least, be a better game than Halo 4? Post your thoughts here down below. Cheers, and have a great day/week!

Edited by IRON RUMBLER: 3/14/2013 3:49:52 PMIts hard to say if will be good at all and predict at this point in time. All the hype when Halo 4 was announced was blown out of proportion due to 343i having a great marketing campaign which everyone bought into which seems to happen with many popular titles. Destiny just for the fact that it is Bungie will gain hype and they will do everything to make people believe it will be the best game ever at this point just to get the attention and keep you interested to have those pre order estimated figures on track .

Edited by Shinwei: 2/26/2013 3:22:52 AMI don't want to sound like one of those ignorant die hard Halo fans, who believe that something like Destiny will never best Halo. Just watching this video though, it made me realize 2 things, that made me feel sick. After Bungie handed over Halo to Microsoft for 343 to publish the next trilogy, and then seeing Bungie start this new project and partnership with Sony, it seems like a huge betrayal. If you watch the video Bungie states that this game will be made so that the Playstation community will enjoy it, there is exclusive playable content for the Playstation community. It makes it look like Bungie left all of its supporters from the Xbox community and started something new with Sony. I thought that something great was torn in half. The second big thing about this topic / video is how Destiny looks. The Halo franchise appealed to me because it was a legendary sci-fi story with great gameplay, that's what hooked me. Destiny...the characters look like weird robots with capes and hoods? That part already turned me off, it actually looked stupid (no offense to Bungie, I know they're thinking of something new). People are having so many high expectations for Destiny (and don't get me wrong, I'm also looking forward to it), but I just think that if Destiny DOESN'T meet people's expectations...where will we turn to? I would love to see how the next Halo trilogy turns out, but why did Bungie have to leave the Halo project in the first place? Everybody's already complaining about how 343 messed up Halo 4 (in my opinion, 343 did an ok job for taking on such a new challenge).

Destiny seems like it'll be a Halo-killer more than a CoD or battlefield-killer. The Halo 4 community is made up of many Bungie fans, I have a feeling a lot of the Halo 4 community will easily be stolen by Destiny.
-
It's more logical to compare it to Halo 5, which comes out later this year, or early next year. I forget. I'm sure Destiny will. Personally, I'll take a new series over the fifth installment almost any day.

Edited by adamiaXD: 2/23/2013 7:05:12 PMim so pumped for Destiny, but i have one question. Do you know if it is going to be a RPG?
-
Of course. You see, Halo is meant to be made by Bungie. Very few (not specified clearly, probably like 2 or 3) employees from Bungie went to build Halo 4. Halo 4... was a complete mess. I used to think Halo: Reach was a mess, but going back and playing it I realized that it fit into the category of Halo. Halo 4 looks like Halo on the exterior, but if you dissect it you will find something completely different. I was super excited for Halo 4, played it for like 2 weeks and got to Lv. 50, then I got tired of it and instantly went to computer gaming and now I'm back to Halo 3/Halo: Reach (Halo 3 is my favorite multiplayer game out right now, even though it is a little over 5 years old). Destiny is made by Bungie, and let's be honest, Halo was a complete success when released in their FPS category. All that has happened is they have learned from Halo and advanced onto a greater project. Will it be better than Halo 1-3/ODST/Reach? Possibly. Better than Halo 4? Yes. FPS's are Bungie's forte, and therefore, they are back on their tracks for world domination.

Destiny will destroy Halo 4. Bungie knows how to take the Halo formula and expand it in their own way (it's their home turf) while 343 takes it and goofs around with it for 4 years like amateurs. That's essentially what they are compared to Bungie. Hopefully Halo 5 will have some redeeming qualities.
-
Sure, Bungie screwed up its own franchise with Reach before sending it off.
-
Of course. It's being made by Bungie, not 343.
-
That wouldn't be a significant feat by any means.
-
I'm want to say it will, seeing how it is Bungie's work and all, and finally after a decade they are moving on from Halo, but it all depends.
-
They are entirely different kinds of games so comparing them is pretty retarded.
-
Hopefully. Half of the Halo community no longer knows Campaign quality.
-
Halo 4 is pretty awesome. But I think Destiny will destroy it.
-
definitely
-
Is there a definite release date of Destiny yet?
-
Anything can beat Halo 4.

As far as Destiny goes, I'll wait until more details come out. From what I've read it just seems like another take on Halo. I'm glad it's a FPS and not a MMORPG, which I heard somewhere that it was. Hopefully it will have more in common with Quake or UT (or Halo CE) than CoD or Battlefield. Bungie has the stones to disregard the current god-awful FPS trends and go back to a minimalist, focused approach, if they do that I will definitely look into it. Nobody try to refute that last part by saying that Bungie made Reach, because they didn't. Microsoft made Reach, Bungie just executed their wishes and put their name on the packaging.
-
Yes, because we tend to forget Halo 4 was 343i's first game. Bungie is far more experienced and they know what they're doing at the helm. In all honesty, I expect Halo 5 to blow Halo 4 out of the water. And I thought Halo 4's campaign was among the best in the series. However, my expectations for Destiny are a bit higher. I want to see what Bungie does with a fresh start.

thats like saying can the dark knight rises defeat batman and robin
-
Halo 4 defeated Halo 4.

Edited by purpledinosaur0: 2/19/2013 1:46:50 AMI would like Destiny to be such a good game that it takes away the majority of 343's consumer base, forcing them to cease development of their shitty Halo spin offs, consequently saving the reputation of the Halo name.
-
Edited by Cobravert: 2/18/2013 9:37:35 PMFwiw, I don't think it will be all that difficult to out do Halo 4. The campaign was cool and all, but the MM audience just isn't there. They did not pay enough attention to what the players said were real concerns about game play, and the population numbers prove it. I think everybody is ready for something different, so this new game will likely have no problem pulling an audience from all different genre the way it looks, except the competitive crowd. I have no proof, but it just doesn't look like / sound like a competition based platform, so far.
-
Bungie is master race, of course
-
MMO vs Fps??? Shit lets talk about how Forza 5 will kill mass effect 3, since you all love comparing two games that have different styles.
-
Lol, Halo 4 was defeated a long time ago. 60k people a day is terrible,
