I would love to see a Rush type game from Battlefield in Destiny. It incorporates several gameplay mechanics that i personally believe blend well together. A gametype where one team plays as Hive-like Guardians defending a series of Warp Gates leading to a massive main gate. The opposing Guardians have to destroy each gate before they are allowed to advance forward. But with each new gate destroyed comes the challenge of Hive players growing stronger via different class selections and abilities.

Swat and race maybe even a mix

A headhunter game type. Or something like hide and go seek with a twist(crisis 3 did this with hunter mode.). Have every person who is hiding be unable to stealth or do anything like that, but they get normal guns/classes. Hiders also get a proximity alarm so when the cloaked seekers get near them, they can tell. The seekers are infinitely cloaked (somewhat stronger then active camo, but you can still be seen if u move), but can only use one single shot slow to reload gun(ex, a bow or a sniper).

Edited by Atticus: 3/18/2014 9:17:23 PMGametypes that stand out from the generic crowd (e.g.: Halo did it with Grifball and action sack). I could see a Hunter parcour course where you can use your previously acquired movement abilities to get from point A to B as fast as you can - I'd especially like to see a race from the surface of the moon down to the to dephts of the hellmouth.
You unlock higher Tier-lists by acquiring more abilities. You can still race in lower Tier classes with a high level but certain abilities are not usable so it stays fair. Matchmaking is done primarily by Tier and secondary by skill.
Also 'Titanaut' - Juggernaut with a Titan wielding the most frightening hammer Bungie can ever design.
There's not much to say. I think it would be a nice twist if the 'Titanaut' can use a special skill - like the Fist of Havoc - once after a certain amount of time.
Maybe bounty hunting in the open world too? If a player you met somehow decided to harm you consciously, you can put a bounty on him - depending on the crime the bounty can be raised higher. But here's the clue; there isn't a prompt or any kind of sign that indicates tha somebody may be a criminal. The bounty hunters have to get their information from a blackboard in the city with the criminals listed on it. They can choose one or two bounties to hunt. Now information of the criminal is displayed in the HUD. They have to check and update their information regularly, because the criminals can change armor, weapon and location. If the job is completed successfully the bounty hunters get paid a good chunk of glimmer and gain a decent amount of experience.
The criminal can be uncovered in different ways. For example you can investigate the crime scene and find bullets you can analyse them either by bringing them to weapons merchant/expert or analyse them yourself (your character can tell from which weapon the bullet came from if your character or someone from your squad has used that weapon). After collecting enough information you can talk to the overwatch tower officer/sherrif and tell him about your clues. You can plan a coup on the criminal so he gets captured as soon as he returns to the overwatch tower or - if he is on Earth and outside the city - you can confiscate his spaceship so he unable to flee to other planets. After the criminal is caught, the bounty will be paid from the criminal's wallet. And still there are many open possibilities I have thought about.
CTF for sure
-
VIP like halo 3
-
TEAM DEATHMATCH :p
-
Storm the enemy stronghold for sure!!!
-
I think they need to avoid catering to the 12 year old MLG crowd that wants instant headshot death (SWAT). I think the Halo's got too caught up trying to be something it was not instead of improving the Halo formula.

Hardcore mode should be a possibility in any of the actual game types.
-
Conquest-esque gametype.
-
*Ahem * This is an OPEN WORLD MMO/RPG, so there aren't game types in Destiny, unlike Halo. Anyways in ViDoc 2 they said " You hear shots ring out over to our left, and there's your friend. There was no matchmaking, he just popped right in." * Walks away casually *

I take back my previous statement. This is a new game and we have no clue how the mechanics work in game what over powers what and all that how the cover is used and well we just don't know anything about it really so we really have no room to say what game type would be the most fun to play.
-
CTF Is my favorite gametype.
-
A hardcore mode for sure. But I sorta doubt it.
