A few tips for people who aren't having any luck finding their legendary drops

So I FINALLY started getting legendary drops, and like many of you I found it taking a long time which was frustrating. So I thought I'd post a few tips that I learned along the way that really helped. 1. Legendaries will drop based on YOUR level, NOT enemy level. For most purposes, with a few exceptions, if you're going to use the strategy of farming mass amounts of enemies for legendary drops then do it on the lowest level enemies you can. 2. The cryptarch is EXTREMELY important. I think a lot of people have overlooked this and I've seen a lot of comments in various forums about people getting legendary engrams, sometimes 5+, and never getting a legendary item out of them. Leveling the cryptarch is crucial, as his level determines the chances of you actually getting a legendary from a legendary engram. 3. Farming crucible is usually more efficient than strikes. The reason is, the rewards given at the end of strikes (not from random enemy drops) is based off of the difficulty level of the strike (meaning higher level strikes are more likely to end with better rewards). However, this also makes them take a lot longer, and you're still only going to get 0-2 items. Crucible matches give items at the end (I've already gotten legendaries) and it isn't in any way related to your skill or performance. So even if you're not the best at PVP, you still have the exact same chances as everyone else to get an item at the end, and since crucible matches are of fixed length for the most part, you're going to get them a lot faster. 4. There are various farming runs you can find on youtube for farming glimmer using certain consumables. These runs are great for leveling up the cryptarch quickly. If anyone has any other tips feel free to add them!

  • I have done more crucible then strikes, and only gotten 1 legendary while thru strikes I've Gotten 3 legendarys. So my advice is... Unfortunately it's luck not skill, but I don't care it's an mmo style game so grinding is the theme so expect it too take long. Try enjoying the game, they'll come mine came when I was just having fun. Funny that playing a game and having fun, strange!?!
