The point was raised in HM Rob's thread, in a strange manner that didn't work so well.
So here's a direct question for the atheists of Secular Sevens; what would it take for you to become a Christian?
-
I wouldn't because it's hard to change my mind on something I've thought since I was like 4
-
There is nothing that will make me a Christian. Its all a buncha bullshit.
-
Proof.
-
Those plebs don't deserve to see God. I hope God never comes down because religion is about faith. I could imagine all of the hypocritical atheists "converting" if he ever came down. Also all of the edgy teens saying hell is better, lol.
-
100% proof
-
Undeniable proof. I wouldn't call myself an atheist though.
-
Him to come down and make a miracle happen. There are pwoe in this world that need help and he does nothing. Unless that happens I'm not going to ignore hard, scientific evidence because some guy nobody knows wrote a book
-
If God answered prayers like this.
-
God would have to appear. In which case I would accept my sentence to hell willingly, and would wonder why he claimed to be "omnipotent", when there's so many inconsistencies and stuff.
-
I'd need to - basically - be shown God and have a conversation with him (Her? It?). I'm an agnostic atheist, so I'm not as arrogant as to believe that we know there is no God, but I need to be shown irrefutable evidence supporting the existence of a God-like entity before you could find me heading to Sunday Church.
-
It's difficult to sway somebody to your side when religion has been used as a tool to control the masses out of fear or to rule over others since you "Speak to God." Furthermore, when there have been SO MANY religions in the history or mankind, and we have gone from Gods to God, its difficult to make someone believe you lol trust me, i've tried. To sway the really non believers, you'd need Jesus himself to come down here and show the world he is real.
-
What would it take for you to become any other of the hundreds of different religions? What would it take you to not believe in your god? Why do you choose to worship one god instead of another? Why do you laugh at the idea of someone believing in Zeus or Poseidon when your god may be viewed in the same light years from now? I personally don't worship because it seems demeaning to me and offensive. (Why should I live my life in fear of doing something wrong and be under the constant scrutiny of some higher being hoping I get his blessing to be let into some pearly gated sanctuary)
-
God coming from the heavens (being visible and audible to everyone else) and telling me that Christianity is the true religion.
-
A book that doesn't contradict itself or reality.
-
Sh!tload of brainwashing
-
Maybe if they would recognize ALL scientific theories as true and not made by magic. I'm willing the believe in a supernatural being but when science has proven theories time and time again and religion keeps rejecting them I get pushed farther away from religion.
-
A reason for why God seems to have only interacted with humans thousands of years ago
-
1. Definite concrete evidence that he exists. 2. A pretty damn good excuse as to why he left us to wallow in our own shit for a -blam!-ing long time.
-
For everything that has been learned or discovered in the last two thousand years to be erased from history.
-
Titties
-
I can't wait for the day when we teach our children of today's remaining religions as we know of mythology now. Oh yeah and the enormous jump in science. Medicine and world peace that will follow
-
God's cock in my ass.
-
Even if there was proof of a christian God, I would never worship him. He's kind of a dick. I'd have fun with my life while I can.
-
Being crucified and resurrected by Jesus.
-
For Jesus to sit on my couch and do miracles
-
I will as soon as god eliminates school.
