South Africa's "greatest son" and one of the most beloved leaders of the 20th century, Nelson Mandela, died Thursday at the age of 95.
A sombre South African President Jacob Zuma announced Mandela's death in a television address. "Our nation has lost its greatest son. Our people have lost a father. Although we knew that this day would come, nothing can diminish our sense of a profound and enduring loss," Zuma said. "His tireless struggle for freedom earned him the respect of the world. His humility, his compassion and his humanity earned him their love."
Zuma said he has ordered all flags in South Africa to be lowered to half-mast, where they will remain until after what will be a state funeral.

Looking at my Twitter, I don't see Nelson Mandela, the anti-apartheid leader and human rights activist, getting the same attention that Paul Walker, an actor known for a single role, received.

I was in the car with my friend and he told me this, right before hearing it on the radio. Such a great individual, I'm glad he lived a full life.

Ok people can stop deep throating us with the Mandela threads.

A true Hero that all people can admire. His lessons should never be forgotten and his legacy will echo on for all time. A True Legend.

I honestly didn't know that much about him until watching the news tonight. But now... damn, he was a great man. The world needs more people like him.
