Better get out the old bicycle then.

It's no so bad. Currently, you need direct access to the vehicle, at which point an attacker could do any number of other nasty things to your car already. The interesting part that hasn't been brought up yet, is that this type of attack could theoretically use OnStar as an attack vector. Remote access changes the game.

Just buy a classic and you'll be fine. Below are some ideas to get you started. I remember a similar article proclaiming that you could hack into planes and control them, although they weren't any actual tests. I think it was debunked by either the manufacturer or the FAA.

I WANT ONE

Anyone else seeing how this could be militarized?
-
maybe people should buy apple cars. They can't get hacked you know.
-
Interesting considering the man researching the Benghazi attack died in a car crash at high speeds...
-
Yikes
-
I will say its good to test this out to get people the information however, the tests these guys are running are when hackers are in the car with you which is highly unlikely. Especially the braking thing where the guy has a cable directly connected to the parking brake. If it gets automobile companies to increase their security for wireless than these guys have done their job. Interesting and scary stuff nonetheless.

Well it's a good thing I won't be getting one of those cars anytime soon, then.
-
Good thing my car is as old as I am.
-
Jokes on them, I drive an old truck. No fancy wireless trickery shall be had.
-
Also driving a car equipped with a manual transmission would help you from getting hacked.
-
I posted their video of this and yet.. I didn't get any replies : (

I'm curious as to why computerized cars are necessary? For the handicapped and elderly, I can understand, but for those who are capable of manually driving (not talking about transmission), then I think this is just a novelty more than anything. It seems to have too many possible problems.
-
I ride mah bicycle, hack that hackers!
-
You can't hack a car, the computer systems don't receive wireless signals, they're like computers before teh interwebs.
-
Watch Dogs called it.
-
It's not that scary and this article explains why.

The hot "conspiracy" right now is that the government is using it to kill leakers.. There was a whole story on this and how cars couldn't brake and randomly went in fire..
