Once. Was in a car behind my mate Tim as he was driving back to college after lunch (others of us were in another car just behind, coming back from town). He didn't stop in time for a junction. T-boned at 40+mph by a BMW. I made the 999 call to get an ambulance and the rozzers over. Speedy response.
-
Yeah, it was around 2006-7 and my dad was having a stroke.
-
I did after being stabbed.
-
yeah when i was like 4. i was just messing about with the phone and pressed the numbers the firemen came round and everything... it must have been so embarrasing for my parents...

Edited by Mega Blaziken: 7/17/2013 8:31:58 PMYes, I have once, there was a break in and I notified cops when my security system notified me, which was about 5 seconds after the initial break in... the cops took about 20 seconds to respond, and the guy was captured within 10 minutes... I have an app hooked up to a silent security system, the system notifies me, I can then forward it to the cops via. their app that allows you to go straight to the cops instead of going through the operator.

Yes someone once stole my wallet in an amusement park. I got home, noticed it was gone, and reported this one shady looking guy who was getting kinda close to me. They eventually found it.
-
I came across a Latvian guy who had crashed but didn't know the number in the UK for the emergency services. Thankfully he was unhurt otherwise no-one would have known. His car was quite out of sight, had he been injured he could have been there a long time before anyone knew. I found the very sad thing (I called the cops then let him sit in my car, It was friggin freezing) was that he said he'd been trying to get someone to help him for about 30 minutes before I pulled over. 30 minutes of traffic and not one pulled over to help. Pro-tip America, 112 works anywhere in Europe land-line or mobile phone, including the UK.
-
I call 911 to report people who are driving like complete douche bags all the time. I have even seen some results in real time.
-
Yep in 2002, at university, my house burned down with me trapped upstairs. Had to phone 999 to get the fire brigade to rescue me. Bad times man.
-
Yeah. I accidentally took two of those 'one a day' vitamins.
-
Yes, ive witnessed several crimes, accidents, and some really depressing shit.

Edited by brandorobot: 7/17/2013 7:40:13 PMOnce when my grandma fell down the stairs in her house, again when I had a severe panic attack while driving and didn't know what was happening to me.

Neighbors decided to be very smart and start a bonfire, on the driest and windiest day of the month. It got out of control and lit their entire backyard on fire, called the fire department. The only time I have had to use it.
-
Yup. After I got rear-ended by an elderly couple on the highway.
-
I do not think I've ever called 911 I asked a cop if cops ate donuts once, if that counts for anything lol
-
No but I got called by 000. I answered the phone, said "hello" twice, and they hung up.
-
My father had a stroke.
-
Yeah, one day the cops ran outside to see the giant motherf*cking mutant dinosaur
-
Does having 911 called on me count?

Edited by Trentonimor: 7/17/2013 3:46:15 AMI was young and staying home alone, and upon the furious knocking of a strange man at my door during the night, I called the police. Turns out it was just a pizza guy with the wrong address, and the woman coerced me into opening the window to tell him I didn't order pizza. She was a nice lady.
-
My parents used to beat me, so I called 911 on them. They haven't done it since.
-
No, although I have had one visit form the FD and one from a police officer saying we called them when in fact no one did. Someone be playin games on my phone!
-
Yes, a couple times at the urging or my parents who don't speak English very well. Also, once after I slammed my car into a tree. That was a fun one.
-
Hm...my mom called 911 once when I was much younger because my dad was having severe breathing issues and had to get hauled off in an ambulance, and someone called the cops on me once for being at a public park after dark when everyone was supposed to be out of it. Aside from that, no real stories to tell.
-
Nope. Although I have had 911 called on me.
