The Community Joes are back in action baby, and I’m your host, Jailbot! Cozy up and settle yourself in, because we’re going for a ride. Where are we going? On nothing short of an adventure. Where will we end up? Your guess is as good as mine.
So, let me explain, this isn't your typical Joes interview. Instead I’ll provide you with a look inside the many groups inhabiting this website, collect a panel of members from within, and ask questions in exchange for a promised fame they think exists. That's right fellas, the cake is a lie.
For our maiden voyage we venture to a land; Chapter, whose residents are known as Chaptards. We've pulled together a small congregation of five to open a dialogue with. What is Chapter? Are these members as strange as their name sounds? Let’s find out.
JBX: Who are you people? Introductions. Go.
Lord Revan, True Underdog, Index: You came to the wrong neighborhood.
UphillMercury: Hi, I'm UphillMercury.
TopWargamer: The name's Tops.
Remorazz: I'm Remorazz.
diggnURgrave: I'm diggnURgrave, or Owen if you’re not one for pseudonyms.
Gentlemen, it's a pleasure.
Introductions aside, how did you find yourself on Bnet? How long have you called this place home?
True Underdog: I first came to Bungie.net back in 2005 because I had a pressing question about glitches in Burial Mounds. I couldn't find my way out so I've stuck around for a little over eight years. I need an adult.
Index: I think I landed here when 2's E3 demo was put on the site. And then to check map pack weekly updates and level bar exp in Team Hardcore. Same tryhard different day kinda thing.
Lord Revan: I came to Bnet in 2005 with a love of Halo and never left. I really just love trolling newbs.
UphillMercury: I've been kicking around bungie.net since 2011, and originally came for the Halo: Reach stats. For those of you who've not seen me lurking around, I try to keep it clean (if occasionally sarcastic), while making as many friends along the way.
TopWargamer: Been around Bnet since 2009. Joined up just to get the Septagon next to my name in Halo 3. Tried out the forums a few times, liked it, and stuck around. Whether you like or dislike me, I'll always love you. <3
Remorazz: Although I was first introduced to Bungie with Halo CE, I started coming to Bnet around 2008 for stats, then made a profile in 2010. It was the kickass games that drew me in, and the awesome community that kept me here. I'm most known for my record games in ODST, but more recently also as a community guy, especially with the meet ups at PAX in 2012 and 2013.
diggnURgrave: I originally came to Bungie.net when I was searching for the creators of Halo after playing at a friends’ house. I browsed around, looked at Bungie's other games and then found the forums. I lurked for a while until I made my first account, darkbrute, in '08. So I've been on and off of the forums for nearly five years. I've made a couple of XBL friends but I hope to meet more of you guys.
Seems like we have a pretty diverse crew here, regardless of Tops over-attachment to this place.
You've told us about Bungie, what can you tell us about the group you represent? Tell us about Chapter.
True Underdog: Chapter is a group created with the intention of giving people on Bungie.net the opportunity to play games and have discussions with people they otherwise wouldn't have met on the mains. Simple name. Simple premise. It may or may not have started out as an April Fools' joke. Check the date.
Index: Yeah. I mean, what it came down to for us was the idea that bungie.net is at its best when you've got friends to play Bungie games with.
Lord Revan: Chapter is a cool place for cool chaps. We developed the group as a means of having a more tight knit family on the site that also inspired other groups to engage in community events. It is also filled to capacity with shitty jokes, actual shit jokes, and a lot of awkward gazes into chocolate eyes.
UphillMercury: Chapter is our own awesome little chunk of the website. Everyone here knows each other, games with each other, and shares jokes with each other. What's more, everyone in Chapter brings something unique to the group. This all serves to make Chapter, in my opinion, one of the best groups on bnet, and certainly the best group I've ever been a part of.
TopWargamer: I joined Chapter when it was still fairly young - around 50-60 members. I've loved it since day 1, and I don't see myself leaving it anytime soon. It's a great place to kick back, relax, and laugh at all of the funny posts. Oh, and the game nights. Well, you gotta go to one if you haven't already.
Remorazz: Chapter is an awesome niche within the Bungie Community, where forum hilarity abounds, game nights galore, and community connects. It’s the type place where you'd hear occasional jokes like: "Would you rather pee out a baseball or poo out a bowling ball?"
diggnURgrave: I joined a while ago, I can't remember why. Was there a mass message? I just stay around because the chapter guys and girls are like the cool kids on the forums.
Sounds like a great place to be! It's certainly reassuring to know thriving groups are still alive and well within our community.
So far all we know about you directly relates to your online lives. What kind of hobbies and interests do you partake in outside of your online life?
True Underdog: All I do is go online and drink heavily.
Index: All I do is go online and drink heavily.
Lord Revan: All I do is go online and drink heavily.
UphillMercury: When I can, I like to fly. I'm a holder of both a glider and private pilot's license, so I guess you could say I'm pretty into aviation. I also play electric bass and the baritone horn. I'm currently an engineering student right now, so between all those things, there's not really time for much else.
TopWargamer: I don't really do sports. I find them boring. As weird as this might sound, I love to keep up with the news. Mainly technology news, but some political stuff pops up every now and then. So there's that. I play games and watch anime too. Just about every weekend me and my friends get together and play Risk or Apples to Apples, drive around town and just mess around.
Remorazz: When I'm not busy at school or sleeping, I'm an artist. I plan on applying to DigiPen for their BFA in Digital Arts and Animation. I've been drawing for years, but more recently began to dabble in digital media. As for other hobbies, I like collecting prop replicas from my favorite movies, whether it be Davy Jones Key from Pirates of the Caribbean or Sting from Lord of the Rings.
diggnURgrave: I play basketball and football. Admittedly I'm not very good at the former. Unfortunately my school didn't have a football team this year. That was a bummer. I also play electric guitar, mostly heavy metal and hard rock. I'm an airsofter, and I love to draw stuff. I've been drawing since I was around 2.
To elaborate, about 20 minutes worth of drinking stories were shared between Underdog, Index, Revan and myself. Stories that included beer pong, vomit disposal, and shattered dreams.
Feel free to use your imagination.
As for the rest of you, that's certainly an astonishing list of talents and hobbies. Mercury, have you ever let anyone jump out of those planes you fly? Be sure to let me know.

Part 2 Panel, how excited are you for Destiny?
True Underdog: [wow intensifies] Destiny will probably be the game that calls my disc tray home for the majority of the next console generation. I'm most looking forward to a new social experience, something that my gaming life sorely lacks right now. Index: About as excited as I am for Obamacare. Lord Revan: I'm very excited about Destiny and what it will mean for the industry. Seamless matchmaking, a sharp crisp UI, a companion application, and likely a strong economic system promoting a ten year play cycle? Count me in. UphillMercury: I'd say 8/10. I'm really excited for Destiny, and love getting to see new information as it's released, but I'm really tired of waiting. TopWargamer: Honestly, a 7/10, and nothing higher. Remorazz: 9/10 This game seriously looks awesome. I really liked how Bungie described the overall ideas at the GDC. Explaining how Destiny was a sci-fi version of a medieval adventure of battling strange enemies, collecting loot, discovering exotic creatures, and telling your tales at your home castle. diggnURgrave: 9/10 So excited, the wait until the beta opens is killing me.
For the most part, I'd say we share the same sense of anticipation. Destiny is poised to be the game we've been waiting for, and then some. Let's have one final hurrah before we dismiss this party. Many hopeful Destiny players already have their sights on a certain player class. Have you been enticed enough to be sure what type your first guardian will be?
True Underdog: Hold on, I'm putting pants on. Index: I'm going to be the Mage. Lord Revan: I'm gonna play the Thief so we can be the adorable trio featured on the box. UphillMercury: I've been, and continue to be, indecisive. I'm leaning heavily towards a hunter at the moment, although the warlock looks equally enticing for a first guardian. TopWargamer: All 3 of the classes seem really great, but I'm in a tie between the Warlock and the Hunter. I'll have to mess around with those classes in the Destiny Beta to make my final decision, but I think I'm leaning towards Hunter for now. Remorazz: I most likely will choose a Hunter. It's the perfect balance between space magic, weapons, and armor styles. diggnURgrave: I really haven't decided yet, I will play as all of them eventually but I might go Warlock first. I mean, double the space magic.
I find myself excited to play as a Hunter initially. It's all about the guns people. Underdog, have you situated your pants problem?
True Underdog: Hitting stuff is fun, so probably the Titan.
I guess we will never know. Chaptards, I thank you for your participation. You've given your audience great insight about yourselves and your group. I'm proud to be among you. As for you, dear reader, all good things must come to an end. Don't think however, that this is the end between us. That's certainly untrue. Think of this as a bright beginning of sorts, our Destiny. Rest easy friends, I can assure there's far more to come. -JBX

"All I do is go online and drink heavily" Haha, sounds like we should be friends.

I read this in a Swedish accent.

I'm surprised I still have a liver after joining this group... I think...

-
Fun fact: Index loves Obamacare.
-
It's really nice to see these still going haha and doing a chapter edition was a great idea! Well done :)
Lord Revan
Wut? Good read though!

Good thing you got Index, TU, and Revan to contribute. They offer totally different perspectives of the same perspective. And no music thread reference? : /
