So I read the forums every now and then (honestly nothing much but ppl complaining) but Ive seen alot hate towards the hand cannon. Honestly I like it. Bit of a learning curve but once I got it I wrecked in the crucible. To the point where other ppl were getting thier HC out. But I was wondering how you guys feel about it

I liked using the hand cannons while running around in the map. I wanted them more than the shotty personally. They do great damage at close range. I was hoping to pick it up as a back up weapon like the shotty but unfortunately they don't allow you to do like in Halo :-( and it has to be your main weapon. I found it too hard to run around in PvP with it since most are shooting you from midrange or a little further.

By my research as a PvE player. Between the low ammo and high reload time you are better off with a scout rifle for accurate shots than a hand cannon especially if playing alone, and figuring you can't one shot per bullet with hand cannon on what you are fighting, if you are it is better. I wouldn't call it worthless though. In groups you could use hand cannons to take big chunks of damage then depend on teammates to finish them off. Cause of the current issues with hand cannons in PvE I can see lot of players giving people that use them a hard time. I don't think they are so weak that people shouldn't use them, they have their place and are fun to use. I think if they made the reload time a little less, there would be less complaining. To me it's not a big deal, and they have to feel different than scout rifles without being overpowered.

Didn't try it, but if they are anything like the Hunter's Golden Gun Super then they aren't really my preferred weapon. Powerful single shots are great if your aim is spot on but if you miss then that's a lot of power wasted. This is the one thing that put me off the Hunter. Always willing to give it a try come release though.

I was really looking forward to the hand cannon before the beta, but after finding out how dominating the auto rifle was in the crucible I never really gave anything else a try. Was very disappointed since my Halo weapons of choice are DMR/pistol. Hoping they rebalance the weapons a bit by launch.
