Does anyone remember the good old days of encountering their first pidgey on route 1 in generation 1? Or defeating Red on Mt. Silver in generation 2? Perhaps the Regis of generation 3? The exhilarating mountains of generation 4's Sinnoh? It seems to me that the Pokemon franchise has a long way before it comes even near death. I myself have not played any of the new generation 5 games. I must say that I did enjoy HeartGold. It reminded me of my earlier years in the second generation: crossing from Johto to the old Kanto region. What is everyone's favourite generation?

Edited by Felicia402: 2/8/2013 3:44:18 AMGen1 will always be my favorite. Call it nostalgia, I don't care. It will always be my favorite regardless. Gen2 was really good as well. Great starters. Gen3 was my least favorite but the starters weren't TOO too bad. Gen4 was also bad and probably had the worst starters imo. Gen5 is now my 3rd favorite generation (behide 1&2). They still have some god awful Pokemon, but surprisingly the good outweighs the bad. I really liked the starters as well.

Gen 5 master race.

Gen III master race, favourite pokemon, good end-game stuff, the contests were cool, the battle tower was semi-challenging, and it had my favourite music.

Nothing beats Gen 2.

I started out with Gen II when I first got a Gameboy, and didn't play any of the first gen games for quite a while after that... then I got Leaf Green and Sapphire. Oh my god. So many hours in those two little cartridges. I had a couple of hundred hours on Leaf Green alone, and more on Sapphire. Gen III is the way to go. Back when everything was still new and different enough that it was a fresh start, but before there was seven squintillion pokemon across 5 regions. That and it blew me away with the difference between the GBA and GBC games. It was like a whole new game back then. "Woah, so many colours and details!"

That Reversal Mountain in B2/W2

I hate it, it's too addicting. As for my favorite generation? Either two or four.

I love Gen 1&2, care little for Gen 3, didn't even bother with Gen 4, and Gen 5 was decent. I have White 2, but I've only played it for two hours. FireRed was a good remake, haven't gotten my hands on HeartGold yet. Point is, I think Pokemon has just gone really downhill after Gen 2. I played the first two generations for hundreds of hours; I played Sapphire for less than 30 and and White for less than 50.

Gen III master race. Had some awesome Pokemon, and the legendaries were the best ones IMO.

I love them all. That being said I feel Gen V is the best.
