PvE: Auto rifle (usually works well), Sniper (Black Spindle), Machine gun. PvP: No tips here, I don't do PvP.

PvE scout or pulse rifle for primary, Shotgun or fusion rifle for questing or striking, and Sword for heavy Sniper and heavy mg for raiding PvP pulse rifle (red death), shotgun, and heavy mg Been sticking to nightstalker hunter lately but bladedancer is a close second. Currently working on a Titan from ground up

I don't have a lot of weapon options yet, but for Hunter I definitely prefer Nightstalker in PvE. It's got a lot of utility for Rezzing and orb generation. I run smoke bomb mostly to invis for Rez or escape groups/set up for swording them down. I run exploding targets for maximum orb spam and try to arrow clusters to keep the other guys powered up. I'm still getting used to Destiny PvP, but I'm trying to get good with Bladedancer. It seems to have a high skillcap and a lot of nuanced play with blink and short invis bursts. Weapon-wise I'm typically running auto/pulse (right now Answering chord and apple), Telesto (single burst escape kills in PvP), and sword.
