And i can see fighting fo the traveler out of gratitude for reviving you but them again if he wasnt evil the Osiris would have no purpose in any part of the story... It just wouldnt make sense.. maybe everyones in denial and doesnt want to label the travler good or evil... Maybe hes just misunderstood... Maybe hes good and brought ruin to humanity unintentionally... Its ok to say hes not evil.. But dont shove us shet to say he is good either... You dont know the whole story... Do some brainstorming and think what you want, i personally would follow osiris as the conspiracy theorist i am... And if your not aware of The Beliefs of Osiris, you shouldnt have posted this in the first place...

Agreed. One of the goals of the story rewrite was to make the game morally black and white. Good vs. Evil. Good guys (us, traveler, speaker) vs. Bad guys (hive, fallen, cabal). Any concept of us/speaker/traveler actually being the bad guy was dropped in favor of moral simplicity.

Yeah the cards portray the traveler as good and bad. Ive read all the cards i have and until the book of sorrows it was clear it had its own intentions. But see how the story unfolds in my opinion it seems the traveler isnt good or bad but uses the populations it touches to its own needs in which case seem to be to slow down the hive/darkness which is determined to stop it. Until they actually say fk the zombie ball or all hail the ball, i think its ment to leave the actual purpose of it open.

I believe originally there was a story, but there isn't a doubt in my mind that what we are fed now (storywise, if they have one) is not even close to what was originally planned. So, using anything past the initial installment of Destiny (vanilla, beta 2.0) to refute initial guesses as to the traveller being good or evil is moot. [i]drops mic[/i]

Praise the Traveler. Anyhow, good or bad, in most situations it depends on which side you are on. And since the Travler seems to stand with the survival of mankind, i think it is much better than anything else in the universe. At the moment anyway.

3 RepliesI think Rasputin will have a huge impact on the story. Not sure if it's a theory or in a grimiore card but I read something about how Rasputin disabled the traveler somehow in order for it to stay rather than to run completely ending the golden age for us. Also I don't trust the speaker I think he has a more insidious agenda.

I love me some MatPat, but he is not infallible. (Hey, it's just a theory) He is using old material, and there are problems with using the Grimoire like he is. Most of it is written from someone's perspective, which can be manipulated or incorrect. Does that mean he is wrong? Only time will tell. He can be correct in the end, but correct for the wrong reasons. It is intriguing to consider that we are actually the "bad guys", but at the end of the day, it gives me an excuse to shoot aliens in the face.

Traveler certainly wants us to have good times, but it always left when things got hairy. Why would he do otherwise for us? Traveler was and is cowardly with his Gift Mast, why would he risk it for us? Because Rasputin used something that made the Traveler use his Light to give off a giant Sonic Boom (to push back the Darknezs and its messenger in Oryx) and fall asleep for a long time. That fits in both theories, and for me it's plausible. Also. Muse - The Handler perfectly fits with this story, Handler = Rasputin, singer = Traveler.

It doesn't make sense that he "stopped the darkness", because it's still here and hasn't been coming close to the city without him 'protecting' it. Made more sense that we stopped the traveller and now the ghosts are spying on the guardians - the only ones that can stop him after regaining consciousness. It would be an easy/lazy plot twist that would trip out some of the simple minded players... Exactly what I'd expect from the writers.

People people Matpats video isnt saying the Traveller is evil. Hes saying it was evil in one of the planned scripts for destiny, however its not the story we got. So no its not evil, not this Traveller
