How to Get The SR-1 SwiftRiver

The SwiftRiver is a new sparrow that was introduced with The Taken King. Up until now, the EV-30 Tumbler was the only sparrow with the Destabilizer perk and you could only get it if you had bought the year one season pass before January 15th, 2015. The SwiftRiver comes in two variants, the SR-0 and SR-1. The SR-0 has the same stats as the EV-30 Tumbler, the SR-1 is a bit faster and has the same stats as a sparrow that's been upgraded with an upgrade drive from Xur. As far as I have gathered, the increased speed does not directly effect sparrow flight as that relies on the dodge function which does not change with speed. The SwiftRiver is acquired through a quest given to you by Amanda Holliday (Shipwright). To get the quest, you must enter a code found on Destiny Red Bull cans to Redbullquest.com. This quest is a timed exclusive and will become available to all on January 1st, 2016 so if Destiny Red Bull isn't' available near you or you just don't like Red Bull, you'll still eventually be able to get this sparrow. Once you have the quest, you will need to go into patrol on any planet and do the Energy Spike patrol mission. This patrol was one of 2 added with The Taken King and the icon looks like a stopwatch. You need to get to charge level III once and do the patrol mission 3 times. If you load into a planet and can't find the Energy Spike mission, go to orbit and come back. After that you'll need to run through a special version of the S.A.B.E.R strike. Once done you will be awarded the SR-0 SwiftRiver. Boom, you've got yourself a flight capable sparrow, but let's keep going for that upgrade. Next you'll receive another quest to play Rift. You will need to pick up the Spark at least once, score it at least once and win 3 matches. Once this part is complete, you will need to win 3 crucible matches with a fireteam. In one of these matches someone in your fireteam needs to have the high score. Once done you'll be awarded a ghost shell. Next you'll have one more quest to do a special version of the Sunless Cell strike and then a special version of the Shield Brothers strike. Once everything's done, you will be given an upgrade drive for your SR-0 SwiftRiver to turn it into the SR-1 SwiftRiver. Enjoy your Red Bull colored sparrow.
