Sunshine is, in my opinion, the greatest Sci-Fi movie of the mid-2000's that nobody's heard of. It's on the same level as the 2002 remake of Solaris. If you enjoy the more serious side of science fiction, you owe it to yourself to check this out.

Tai Guk Gai About the Korean War told through the eyes of a South Korean soldier. Movie is in Korean, of course, but it's easily the equivelant to Flags of our Fathers/Letters from Iwo Jima. Amazing movie.

Dredd.

The count of Monte Cristo. A movie very few people I have talked to have heard of let alone seen, yet would have to be in my top 3 favorite movies of all time. It even has Dumbledore in it!! What better selling point is there?

Devils double

One of my favourites is Lucky Miles. Its so great. its about these refugees who come to Australia via a people smuggler and are left on the coast of Western Australia and are told that Perth is on the other side of that sand dune. Of course its not, and chaos ensues. Its hilarious.

Edited by A Flying Pony: 3/5/2014 7:59:08 PMSeeing that this thread is getting quite a bit of responses, would you like me to make a list in the OP with some of the exceptional ones, perhaps ordered by genre? Reply With 1 or maybe 2 movies here that you think are good enough to be on OP

I wanna say Children of Men, since no one I've met has seen it. That is a seriously amazing movie.

Source Code (2011) is incredibly underrated and didn't get much attention on release because it came out in the aftermath of Inception. Great film.
