Anyone here play it? What did you think of that massive super battle that occurred recently? Did anyone take part in it?
I'm interested in the game, it looks like a great combination between space battle (Yess), and economics. Would you recommend playing it to someone? Is it worth the 15 a month?

Played the 2 week trial twice, tried so hard to get into it but it's just SO DAMN BORING.

Used to play it for a few years. I think it's a great game, it just takes too much time to play it properly. Grinding ISK for ships is practically a full-time job.

I tried out the demo. It has some things about it that were cool, but it wasn't for me.

I play an industry character so I don't really do much fighting, although I have been dabbling in PvP lately. The battle between HBC and CFC was pretty awesome to watch. The streams were hilarious, so much lag. RIP billions and billions and billions of ISK ;_;

I've played it for years, have done just about everything there is to do and am richer than creosote. The nice things about that particular fight is that it happened by accident*, and while not the largest by any stretch of the imagination (big fleet bashes in 07-08 out-sized it by some margin), it was actually playable. I think the local count peaked at 2700 players in system, split across a dozen or more fleets, and while time dilation took the game down to about 5% of realtime, people could jump in and out, maneuever, activate modules, shoot things, kill things, GLORIOUS. Only three or so years ago the game effectively had a hard cap of 600 players in a single system, and if it got anywhere near that level the game became unplayable. *Idiot titan pilot jumped to a cyno rather than bridging his friends to the cyno. The bridge allows sub-capital ships to jump directly to the beacon, usually used for lame-as--blam!- ganks, jumping takes the titan to the cyno. Consequence? Lone, unsupported supercapital ship, utterly incapable of defending itself, jumping into a low-security system (that means no infrastructure support from structures/stations etc.) with no support. End result? 3,000 man, 6-hour slugfest at six in the morning. It's exactly the kind of thing you play eve for.

Edited by Gunner Rya: 1/27/2013 5:28:58 PMI just read up on that supermassive battle, apparently these two corporations were allied together, but the allegiance began to become strained. By accident, someone warped a capital ship, almost their flagship, to a region of space held by the other 'ally.' Seeing this ship stranded, they decided to attack it, as the team with the fail pilot attempted to send reinforcements to the fight. 2,800+ ships were involved in the fight above 'Asakai', though I can imagine that there were a couple of other fights in surrounding systems. Sounds like too much work. I might as well do something productive it I'm putting in that much effort.

Edited by Funkbrotha10: 1/27/2013 5:09:13 PMI play it, and yes I reccomend it. You can pay for the game with in game currency. So it has the potential to be free to play. That super massive battle shouldn't have happened It was the result of a mistake of one titan pilot. ( titans are the largest ship class in the game ) this is a picture of me flying next to a titan. try to find my ship lol And now in the largest market hub in the game prices are rising a bit more aggressively than usual ( even though sundays are the busiest days for eve ) If anyone wants to try it, let me know and I will send you a 21 day trial invite ( normal trials are 14 days ) If you upgrade to a paid account via paypal or credit/debit card I get a reward worth significant in game cash, I will split it with you. based on current market prices this comes out to 277,419,999.99

I love the fact that you can pull of heists in the game that are worth actual money.

Naw, I heard that game is as fun as doing your taxes.
