The taken King preparation

-Marks. Make sure Vanguard and crucible marks are maxed out or close to maxed out on all characters. You won't be able to use them when TTK comes out BUT they will turn into a material that you can dismantle for reputation towards vanguard, crucible, and/or the faction of your choice. -Glimmer. Make sure you have close to 25,000 glimmer. There maybe be new stuff you want to buy that costs glimmer (shaders, emblems, faction allegiances, etc.). It will also help to save your House Banners, Silken Codex, etc., to turn into the cryptarc for glimmer. You might also want to save up your upgrade materials such as ascendant materials and radiant materials since you can trade them for glimmer or motes of light. -Factions/Faction packages. Try to get your crucible, vanguard, and faction of your choice (new monarchy, dead orbit, future war cult) reputation up to 2300-2400 points before TTK. This will ensure you new gear from packages. If you get packages now and open them when TTK comes out, the packages will have house of wolves gear. Your best bet it to get the crucible, vanguard and faction up to 2400, then wear a faction you've never worn before. BTW: this works with the cryptarc too, to get new TTK engrams. -XP. In case you want to level up as quick as possible, there's ways to "save" XP to use on September 15th. 1. Complete bounties worth 5000 XP...AND DONT TURN THEM IN RIGHT AWAY. 2. Complete Daily public events with each of your characters you want to gain XP on. You can do this once a day one each character and save the packages at the postmaster. 3. Just about anywhere that you can buy redbull a from, has the destiny edition 12oz the has an XP boost (as well as a special quest). The code is under the tab. Each code grants double XP for 30minutes and there is no limit to how many codes you enter. -Gear. So you've had your eye on that helmet or hand cannon from the vanguard or crucible...make sure you buy it, because its not going to be available after September 15th. Raid gear, PoE gear, and trials of Osiris gear will still be available. However, they'll still have year 1 attack and defense values .
