Elite Dangerous: Ship Talk
Let's talk about our ships here. Discuss better parts, awesome loadouts, etc.
I'm currently running an Asp. Damn thing is fat as hell but has a respectable amount of fire power. It's kinda funny how I'll get ripped up by vipers and eagles but I can combat Pythons just fine.

Asp is gone. The ass was fat and I got tired of it. Bought a Vulture instead. Loving the speed and maneuverability.
I run:
1 Class 3 Gimballed Beam Laser
1 Class 3 Gimballed Cannon

Well...my Vulture is now in a sun somewhere near Nanomam. I got fed up with its two beastly weapons. Didn't even want to get my money back from it. 20ish million cred Vulture down the drain.
I am back in my awesome Viper though! I run:
Two Class 1 Burst Lasers
Two Class 2 Railguns
I missed my speed. Glad to be back in this little beast.
Eventually I'll get a Federal Corvette but I've gotta wait for it to come out first.

Loving my Viper- I only ever change it up if I want to go sightseeing in my Eagle. Only time I ever feel at a disadvantage in my fighter is when I'm attacking an Anaconda, but that's not the ship's fault, it's mine. Damn you, Carl Wells. Damn you.

13 RepliesCurrently I'm sitting pretty in my python. Weapon loadout is 3 C3 gimballed pulse 2 C2 rail guns It A rated except for the powerplant which is still B. I'll definitely be getting myself a federal assault, and then the fed Corvette when it releases.

4 RepliesMy cobra is way too limited for the CG so sold out scanners etc and popped in some more cargo bays temporarily. I want to make enough cash to buy a clipper. Anyone know the usual price? Oh and are they worth it?

3 RepliesI just bought the Diamondback Explorer for some lucrative smuggling. Almost completely A-rated with a jump range of 31ly. I stripped her of her weapons, so she's somewhat declawed, but with two chaff launchers I have chaff for days! Those who interdict me better have fixed weapons and a steady hand. She's so maneuverable that I can make it into the mail slot at any angle, so it beats the Cobra in that respect. After this smuggling stint, I can have her outfitted to do some exploring. I'm very happy that I made this purchase today.

3 RepliesI'm currently cruising in a Cobra equipped with two fixed beam lasers and two gimballed Multi-Cannons. I'm just a low-level bounty hunter / courier at the moment. I hear it's a good starter ship for exploration.

Edited by JackTheCreeper: 10/15/2015 11:20:27 PMI recently purchased a Vulture and I run two Gimballed Pulse Lasers on it. I can take on any ship that's running by itself in Hi-Res / Haz-Res sites. I still have to pick my fights when I run into wings, but I feel a lot more powerful than running those sites in my Cobra.

2 RepliesBought myself a Vulture, the thing turns on a dime, and it can strafe at ludicrous speeds!! I need to put Yaw back onto the left stick in alternate so I can take full advantage of this. Also this thing can tank big time, especially with Shield Cell Banks on hand. And the engine sound...! *drools*
