Since early July 2010, I've been fortunate to play host to a Private Group that has only been made awesome by the awesome people within it. For about two and a half years now, this group has stood as our own quiet little spot on Bungie.net, and it served its purpose well. Yet with all this change in the air, I couldn't help but feel it to be somewhat contagious... Below is a post I have written within my group to address my desire for change, and what changes I wished to bring:
This group is going to undergo some changes in order to keep with the times.
Evidently Bungie is working towards creating a site that has a multitude of social features and many ways to stay easily connected or involved with things that people enjoy. After three days of exploring new features, and seeing how people reacted and embraced this new change, I found that it was an appropriate time to break down some of our walls. Since this group started, we've had our own cozy little corner on the internet to come to and hang out in, but I think its time we loosen up the exclusivity, because if I Destiny is what I think it might be, we're going to be meeting and playing with a lot of new people. If not, well at least we can still have our own Community here in this corner of the Internet, except now we're just making it a bit bigger.
One of my favorite places to go with friends to socialize, share, and to have good times, is an Irish Pub. The vibe I get when I'm there, is the same sort of vibe I want to have when I visit here. Why? Because the feeling or sense of brotherhood you have with friends, whilst sharing stories and a cold pint is a simple, yet communal and warm feeling that I believe all sorts of people would enjoy.
We'll change our name, and add numbers to this great party of people that has already stood for a few years now, all the while still aiming to keep true to our roots of staying connected to our friends and having a damn good time, both online here and in the gaming world.
We were once known as CMWKA, but with this change, we will now be known as...
"Muintir Irish Pub" - Muintir is Irish for "Community, Family, People", so I found it rather suitable when considering our Member Base. (Pronounced MWINTIER, The "M" is very soft, almost silent.)
So, I invite ALL of you that would seek good times and friendly company, to join up. There's already great company within, and I hope we can help make you're stay here all the more enjoyable.
Cheers.

WTF did you do Helvak? Gayest name and theme I've ever heard of, and I live right next to Canada.
-
Why all the new people?!?
-
Wait, where are you getting the silent M from? Maybe you are thinking of the word Mhuintir? That would be pronounced "Win-chir" or "Win-Tier". Also, this pub should be called "Paddys Pub".
-
I like it! Though I still do not get the pronunciation... shouldn't it read "MEEN-ter" or "MOON-ter"?
-
Do I get a cookie if I joined?
-
I wish I could join more than 10 groups :( I gave it a follow, at least.

Edited by Cobravert: 1/13/2013 4:27:58 PMWhat? A group of drunk Canadians talking about how many moose they own and how many much they enjoy skinning woodland critters while trying to speak with an Irish accent? Nah. (Where do I join?)

Yes, join us, this would be something that is a good thing.
