1. It's much easier to get to 32 then it was to get to 30.
2. VoG is old and quaint to kinderguardians, alot of them haven't run it much.
I've failed several times at Atheon with random groups for the same reason you did. Most of these new guys get vendor and raid gear to 31 or 32 and never even run normal VoG, think they can just jump into hard.

because they can lol. ive seen raid noobs nearly solo the Templar. and I ran with a team including 2 noobs yet we still crushed the raid,and they held their own weight(albeit they had a hard time remembering supplicants exploded the first time)
