I ran VoG normal for the 1st time y'day; great fun, confusing as heck, disorientating as could be, frantic as *uck! DON'T PANIC!! Hard to keep calm and do the relic - huh? That button does what? Blam! Exit scene 1. Our team of likewise intrepid but inexperienced Guardians benefited from a patient, experienced team leader, who got us all safely through! Without his leadership, we'd be Harpy toast! With a change of gear, I can go from T27 to T31; now that my new gear is maxed-up, i am back at stable T31. I've grinded to earn my gear and Light; i also did IronBanner - see my wolf's head banner. I earned that. And i truly suck at Crucible. I have exotics (thorn and invicta shotgun) on standby forCrucible element to unlock, but my COD/HALO/GoW son will get them done in short order during term break. I just suck at Crucible...doesn't stop me trying...this is a game after all. But, in Crucible, against a Hunter killer pack armed and intent - ferget it, m8😩 So, for me to find 5 other virtual strangers who have the time, will and patience to be honest - about their abilities, respectful - of each other, and are not just a bunch of blowhard sociopaths, it ain't easy. I would like to do VoG a few more times to get more experience in all of the 6-member team roles, and, when i feel ready, then i will try VoG Hard - but not before. Once that's done, off to learn CE Normal, then rinse & repeat. There is no rush. Rewards & goodies will come in time. Last point: perhaps a training simulation as in other FPS games for players to learn handling skills of relic / sword would help remove the 'fear' of being 'the one'....how many times did i hear--and i even said it myself--"pick it up... PICK IT UP!!!" People aren't afraid of the relic, they're afraid of letting their team mates down. Period. I was relic man on several iterations....i need more practise! But, i know a little bit more now than i did before! I also need to work on my Titan's flying skills...those disappearing columns to Gorgon's Maze proved might troublesome!!! 😩 FYI: my VoG team was found on the forum, a great group of likeminded players - go see for yourself!
