If all you warlocks want to get into technicalities.... the quote says hunters learned from warlocks. yes. That does not necessarily mean warlocks taught hunters. You can learn something from someone by just observing them. Will it take longer and be harder to achieve without guidance? Yes. Besides. Hunters could be sneaky enough to observe them without being caught.
