As a 32 you should be capable...
Last night, I was finishing up my Atheon kills on all my characters to end the week.
First two went smoothly, then I went on my 32 hunter and found a random team. (yes shoot me I don't have friends on all the time)
The team consisted of 3 32's 2 31's and a 30. I should not have assumed, but did that at least 2 people will be able to handle the relic. Turns out, we spent an hour and never got it done because I was teleported once everytime, the second time the relic holder always died.
As a 32, you should be able to handle the relic on atheon and on the templar. Some of you might say "but we never get the chance to". Go into normal mode and train yourself.
Some of you also might say "oh ha, scrub you should get him in one go anyway". Tell that to the people that think word of crota/plan c is doing a lot of damage on Atheon.
Point is, 32's AND 31's AND 30's should be able to or at least try handling the relic. It's not really that hard.
What do you guys think? I want to hear your thoughts on those that have had the same problem as me or from the people that haven't learned how to use the relic.

you can't expect ppl to if they've never done it. Crotas end is pure cheese mode easy loot. VoG mechanics and fights are more challenging. 30's should be easy mode in VoG hard. I did it as a 29 til DLC.

You have a point but people have different play styles so sometimes you may have never been taught how to do it

I taught myself on hard mode when people wouldn't pick it up I made sure I did nd I let them know I'm learning and finally we did it relic is not hard it's literally 3 buttons.....

1 ReplyGot in with 4 32s and a 30 earlier. Templar on hard. None of them wanted the relic and for the past 2 months all I have done is relic duty. I really didn't want to but I did. We killed the templar first go, got to the exotic chest and I just left with their checkpoint. Got some friends online an hour later, running them all through the checkpoint for the chest, and on my 3rd character I got my second gjallarhorn. Do I feel bad? Not at all.

If someone doesn't know how, then tell him how. I don't know all the ins and outs of the raids... not a big deal.

Anyone above 30 should be able to. It took me almost an hour to beat atheon and the only reason is because I was teleported every time. I was on my 31 warlock. It was ridiculous. I couldn't believe everyone was so bad. One of them insisted on using red death instead of raid weapons -_- it was horrible

but in reality, no one should have to worry about the oracles, jus kill the vex and Atheon. oracles are so mainstream i get bored even aving to deal with them

17 RepliesLvl 32 is obtained via CROTA raid gear, some people would have got the game, maxed new vanguard gear and done crota to get this level. Just because someone is 32 does not mean they have experience in all aspects of the game. Apart from the exotic chest, why would they even play VOG if they got the game when the dark below was available?

I honestly agree for the most part but some people just play with randos and never really have cooperative people that allow them to. There is a lot of ego with some people insisting on using the relic and whatnot and unless you are with a good group people prob aren't down to let you take the time to learn.

Funny thing is, I was running VOG with my warlock and found random 29s and 30s. Everytime I was teleported I grabbed the relic and we did good. No problem right? They were noobs, they didn't even know which plate to go too. Everyone outside the portal died Everytime I was teleported.

If you are doing VoG hard you should be capable of handling the relic during the Atheon fight. This goes to show being a 32 doesn't make you more effective in VoG.

2 RepliesMm. I agree they (we/I) should be harder to kill due to the level advantage if nothing else. But honestly, I never personally spent a lot of time holding the relic or even the sword. I picked a Titan because my play style is generally as a support. Sniping, healing, buffs, flanking, oracles, reviving with a protective Saint-14 bubble, the surprise Gjallahorn rocket...there are a ton of teams that need a support function, which means I could usually fill that role and ended up not getting a lot of practice with the relic/sword. Not sure if that means that I suck...but I do agree that there's an expectation that we can do both Support & Ops. Maybe I need to get to practicing...who knows. LOL

People who don't know how to use the relic at this time should be instantly kicked out of raids because there are so many YouTube videos on it and I'm a 31 and can handle any role in put in in VoG and in Crota I'm learning sword bear so no excuses if you don't know how you didn't make an attempt at learning

2 RepliesAs a 30 i was able to and still am able to use the relic and solo mars & venues at the gatekeeper checkpoint. Even thought i have Ghorn i always pick up the relic when teleporting because, everyone seems to not be very good with it.

2 RepliesI've gotten the mythoclast a while back and I have no reason to do atheon except help others. I'm always the relic holder/ sword bearer but recently I keep seeing level 30-32 players who have no idea how to use the relic. It's extremely frustrating trying to explain how to use it for other players. The only way to learn is practice or look it up on YouTube

3 RepliesI'm happy to use the relic but my highest is level 31 so I generally let the level 32 take it on Atheon hard. Weird though because sometimes they don't even want it. I read up about the relic and learnt the keys but in honesty, it's straightforward and easy to handle. On one normal raid, I was relic holder on every teleport as a level 27 (we had level 31s who all said they didn't know how to use it) and we finished it just fine. Weird thing is I haven't had any chances to use relic on Templar though, go figure.

Totally agree. You shouldn't be on hard mode at all unless you know how to carry the relic. And people whining about the minotaur on Venus regenning health - give me a break - kill him anyway. There are particularly no excuses if you're a 32.
