Last night, I was finishing up my Atheon kills on all my characters to end the week.
First two went smoothly, then I went on my 32 hunter and found a random team. (yes shoot me I don't have friends on all the time)
The team consisted of 3 32's 2 31's and a 30. I should not have assumed, but did that at least 2 people will be able to handle the relic. Turns out, we spent an hour and never got it done because I was teleported once everytime, the second time the relic holder always died.
As a 32, you should be able to handle the relic on atheon and on the templar. Some of you might say "but we never get the chance to". Go into normal mode and train yourself.
Some of you also might say "oh ha, scrub you should get him in one go anyway". Tell that to the people that think word of crota/plan c is doing a lot of damage on Atheon.
Point is, 32's AND 31's AND 30's should be able to or at least try handling the relic. It's not really that hard.
What do you guys think? I want to hear your thoughts on those that have had the same problem as me or from the people that haven't learned how to use the relic.
-
Lol yea, you have the easy ass crota raid to thank for that. What was bungie thinking giving the helmet away on normal anybody can beat crota on normal. Not that its that much more difficult on hard but its way to easy to get to lv32.
-
it does bother me when they cant use relic though there is some players who started playing destiny late so they avoided vog completely and are only experienced in crota
-
Absolutely.. It aint that hard to use. I learnt by going on youtubeand watching videos on how to use it and when. I knew that with the new update it was crucial to learn it because of the random teleportation and alotta ppl were to scared to pick it up. So I taught myself and got use to it.
-
No excuse to not know how to use the relic anymore in VoG unless it's your first time. If that's case, then please speak up. I'd prefer you learn even if it means a few wipes.
-
Relic running at 31 is VERY forgiving.
-
I have over 30 completions across both my characters and I have almost exclusively ran with randoms. I guess I am just lucky with my random people I have gotten some bad teams for sure but for the most part I have always found good people.
-
I run relic like a pro...... ;)
-
Back in '84 I handled the relic and my balls...on hard.
-
I think bungie should implement some raid mechanics like relics and such in their strikes, that way, come raid time, more people will be used to using those items. The hive sword isn't too bad; people can use them in patrols and on the "sword of Crota" mission... And, I have a feeling that's why they implemented the blades mini events, so that everyone can get a go at using swords so it isn't overwhelming in the raid. but the relic only ever appears in raids... I'm usually the sword/relic guy cause it's actually really fun. But even the best of us started not knowing shit about how to do it. All you have to do (as with most parts of the raids) is be vocal and upfront about it and say you haven't done it before. Most people will be cool and let you practice a while, especially if they also don't have experience with it. People don't appreciate it when you enter a raid high level and hope it will smokescreen the fact you haven't been there before. if you're in a fireteam where no-one knows, great! just pick someone and practice, you will get it eventually, it really isn't that hard to get the basics. That's what every fireteam had to do at some point in time.
-
The worst is when they don't bring any vog weapons with oricle disrupter... Like wtf
-
Check grimoire score, NOT level. ANYONE can be a 31 or even a 32 nowadays.
-
Still get sniped at mars :-( but then, it seems only few people know, that you can use cleanse at the templar also as a damage shild. So i think i'm simewhere in the mid
-
It seems like every person ive ever met is afraid of Supplicants You can literally stand next to their spawn and take no damage If i see someone wait back on top of the sink pad after the portal is open, i scream at them until they move up and kill the -blam!-ing harpies...ATHEON DOESNT EVEN MOVE! just stand right under his taint and spawn trap the supplicants with a corrective measure
-
32s should be able to: Solo either of the portals Use the relic effectively Kill most if not all of the supplicants Defend the conflux on the gatekeeper part with minimal help Survive most/all of Crotas end on normal Use the sword on crota effectively Do both raids without ANY cheese Reply with more if I missed any
-
those 32s who die to supplicants on normal multiple times..,,,,
-
32 doesn't help any as being 30 in hard vog
-
I believe as a 32 you should be able to do the following Hold relic on templar Hold middle for gatekeeper Solo portals on gatekeeper Hold relic on atheon Solo lamps Hold sword for crota
-
This is bungie's fault for allowing low level noobs to reach 31 through vendors
-
I donr grab it couse there is this buggy idea always saying "you're gonna screw it, let someone else to grab it and if they fail, at least you can make fun of them"
-
Everything you're saying should easily be done as a 30. The level cap increase gave a lot of players ability to jump that gap from 29 and up without grinding out hard VOG like we had to PRE-DLC. Unfortunate that so many don't get the chance to do it like everyone before.
-
If you want to be a raider then learn to use the relic/sword. It blows my mind when people won't learn it but bitch at the people who do try to do it.
-
I was getting caterpillar/hawk errors for about 3 months and could never raid. I went in a few times with random groups but would just be sent to orbit after getting to the Templar. This made me be an unreliable team member. I stopped and just did strikes because that was the time I could get in game before being kicked. By the time I fixed the problem the dark below came out so I went straight to crotas and haven't touched the vault since. I know well it's the best part of the game and I will damn sure play it soon; but really... Being a 32 has absolutely nothing to do with the vault of glass. Sadly that's the path bungie allowed us to play
-
I would say yes but this happens Practice=Normal=Nobody wants to do this... OR Practice=Normal=Everyone wants to get it done fast=you try shield=Couple Wipes=Angry Team
-
Ive had that happen. My best friend and i jump in a group of his mutual friends who were day one players. We thought it would be a walk in the park. We get to the gate keeper and i ask who is getting the first relic, who is getting the second............ long pause. Ok, ill grab first, who else? My friend wanted to jump in, shoot gallys, jump out, then hold middle instead of grabbing it. We both ended up taking the relics, run to middle and the 4 other ppl lost it to minators. Wtf? Countless trys later we make it. We get to atheon and this one kid is using a blue shotgun to take out oracles. *facepalm* cmon kid, really?! Even being impatient, i took the time and explained to them how to use the relic, how to shoot oracles, and to NOT get friendly with supplicants. Never worked out. Cant fix stupid
-
Its easy to get 32 honestly. Anyone can just get the armor, even noobs and level it up while having no experience in the vault raid.
-
I'm always surprised whenever I come across 32s who can't handle relic. And I assume since the team is usually always 30+ killing atheon would be a breeze but sometimes it isn't cause they don't know what they're doing. ._.
