With the recent talk of weapon modifications and the increasing probability of having guns fit ideally into certain niches I figured this would be a good time to introduce a possible change and rotation to how we swap out weapons.
This formula idea is a new perk comes into play. Weapon rotation. All classes, permanently activated once unlocked.
The perk allows you to have two equipped weapons for each slot in your inventory and by pressing a corresponding directional button you rotate between the primary 1st and 2nd, special 1st and 2nd, and heavy 1st and 2nd.
This allows a user to basically say, "I have a hand cannon as my primary and a scout rifle backup on my back. The hand cannon would rotate to the hip slot and the back."
A possible limitation for the crucible.
Only one category of weapons may have 2 items for rotation and must be designated by the player BEFORE the match starts. If a player does not? The game automatically defaults onto the primary weapon slot. This is to prevent players from using six guns in the crucible rather then the equipped three. You want to be familiar with your guns, but in a pinch, can draw on a specially prepared gun for the situation.
The other possibility is reducing the weapon swap times for favoring multiple weapons being equipped or even better, the more guns equipped, the slower you move. Like weight of darkness, but if you only have three weapons equipped? You move at weight 3. If you have 4 or 5? You have a -X to your base speed, and if you choose all 6? You have another -X again.
If you could build this idea into your own, how would you do it?
