I just started using one for grimoire points haha...
I've found you can actually shotgun most bosses, there's just a trick.
You can even shotgun Rockets McD. When he's on the ledge just crouch down right up next to it and his AOE won't hit you. Then when he's walking you can run in, shotgun, and double jump out.

Haha yeah it's a challenge of it's own. Have you seen 3 guadians MELEE Rockets McD to death? :p Tried to find that video... but can't seem to locate it. But it's funny.
