Let's take a Praetorian for example.
From the CE shotgun Swordbreaker, it takes around 4-5 shots to kill a Praetorian at point blank. By the time I get close to killing one, the Praetorian has already gotten off 2 melee's and I'm dead.
However, with the shotgun buff coming Praetorians are, in a matter of terms, screwed so far up the ass they might as well no spawn in.

Lets take the secret handshake on my Titan currently. It has "smart drift control" and "perfect balance". It's full auto 331 VOID. Yes I have to get to sniffing distance but its rate of fire for a shotgun is also high. If needed I can get 6 shots off and not miss the Praetorian in less than 2 seconds and less than one melee hit from him. He is essentially a fly on a wall to me. In reality, it takes me exactly 3 of my 6 shots to kill him. First removes his shield ENTIRELY. Second brings him down to 1/3 life and the third one blows his ass all over the map. I start at his nuts and by the third shot, my shotgun is facing the center of his chest. Takes less than a second and they get a single hit on me 1 out of 3 instances. Hell, I don't even bring heavy weapons out covering the sync plates anymore. I just roll with Fatebringer and if a Praetorian gets close, I shut him down! It's to a point that when a Praetorian sees that shotgun, it gets squirrelly and goes the other direction!
