The whole purpose of firearms is to kill at range. Video game shotguns force you to get too close to do enough damage to bullet sponge enemies. Maybe it's just me but there seems to be too many other, less risky methods of dispatching an enemy.

Well sometimes people are stupid/sneaky enough to get close. That's when I whip out my shotgun. :p
