Why aren't YOU using Shotguns in PVE?
Do share, why don't you use them? And I'd rather have more specific reason than "I don't like them" (which is a valid reason ofcourse), because I'm curious why don't you like them.

I like to be a little farther off my prey. and until now the damage wasn't adequate enough to justify them over a fusion rifle or a sniper.
