Do share, why don't you use them? And I'd rather have more specific reason than "I don't like them" (which is a valid reason ofcourse), because I'm curious why don't you like them.
Thank you!
EDIT: Typo, and thank you for feedback. :p

Edited by TeKnoVKNG23: 2/6/2015 7:22:31 PMBecause at end game or any of the harder content, the last place you want to be is up close to most enemies. Fusion Rifles offer a great damage alternative that can be used from a pretty good range away. That's not going to change even with the range nerf. Snipers overall out perform both weapons and allow you to take down enemies quick and efficiently from distance. Personally I don't think the 2X damage thing is going to help. If you are playing anything at level 30, or the nightfall, or any of the harder content, Knights, Captains, Stealth Vandals, etc. are still going to be able to kill you in like 1-2 hits up close regardless of how much damage your shotgun does. Hell, Psion's can one hit you at level 26-28 with their melee attack, and then when you add in all the burns and modifiers in most of the harder stuff, it just doesn't make any sense to use a weapon that puts you in such risky territory on the battle field.

Waiting for the buff.
-
Most mobs that need that kind of single target damage do massive damage to you, I'd love to see shotgun users in lightswitch nightfalls.

Shotguns are nice and all, the damage output is ridiculous. But that requires you to get up in the face of something. The reload speed can also leave much to be desired in PvE, since it's one shell at a time and not the whole magazine. I'd rather use a sniper, that can really reach out and mess something up before I'm even within their range of fire, or a fusion rifle that staggers all enemies and has fairly decent range and reload (enter my beloved Plan C that I've had since week one of the game)

Because of plug ones range
-
I got a fusion rifle
-
Because you'll just die.
-
If they really want people to use shotties, add "Firefly" and "Crowd Control".
-
I don't use shotguns generally in pve because it's just to -blam!-ing easy to snipe AI.
-
Three reasons: I don't like them, I suck with them, and I have refused to be a shotgun guy on principle since I first saw the way people played Crucible with them. Which is hypocritical considering I use TLW.
-
I do use them in pve #UniversalRemoteMasterRace

For the reason most are replying with, that alot of the enemies in the level 28-32 category are often to plentiful to take out with a shotgun, plus their range is often more than a shotgun can handle. Most of the strike missions don't really lend themselves to using a shotgun, with the exception of the Sepics first room with the Servitors. Cheers

Edited by EchoesOfMadness: 2/6/2015 7:16:40 PMWell to be pessific they don't have enough dps for endgame content. Any strike boss will smash your teeth in If you close in to deliver shotgun blasts to the face #grammarNazi
-
Because I have skill with primaries.
-
I do I love close range and I love when people get said. Tougher to get in close than spray away with an auto

Edited by Dingse3: 2/6/2015 7:07:22 PMAlways wanted too. Shotty's do wreck majors, but with a 100% buff they may well be worth it.

for me its the range. I love em when you have a few mobs... but when you get overrun.... too slow. Swordbreaker is great on minotaurs!

I went though each strike on my Hunter only using Universal Remote and Found Verdict. Next up, the raids!
