A 6-year-old boy’s mother, grandmother and aunt are accused of staging a kidnapping, then holding the child for four hours to teach him about “stranger danger.”
They hatched the plot to scare the boy because they said he was “too nice” to people, police said.

The boy’s mother, Elizabeth Hupp, grandmother, Rose Brewer, and aunt, Denise Kroutil, engaged the help of Nathan Firoved, who worked with Kroutil at a gas station.
Firoved waited for the boy to get off his bus after school, then lured the child into his pickup, police say.
While in the truck, Firoved, 23, told the boy he would never “see his mommy again,” and he would be “nailed to the wall of a shed,” police said.
As the boy started to cry, Firoved showed him a handgun and told the child if he didn’t stop crying he would hurt him

Later, Firoved took the boy — still blindfolded — to the basement of the boy’s home and left him there.
The boy’s aunt, Kroutil, removed his pants and told him he could be sold into “sex slavery.” She also chastised him because he did not try to resist her. He did not recognize her voice.
How would you talk to your children(lol) about "Stranger Danger"?
It's hard talking with children about potentially scary things without scaring/traumatizing them.
So how would you do it?
I'd say staging a kidnapping isn't going to have a positive outcome.
How would you talk to your children(lol) about "Stranger Danger"? It's hard talking with children about potentially scary things without scaring/traumatizing them. So how would you do it?
That's a super tough one. I imagine if they're at a point where they do anything without me being nearby I'll talk to them about it. I'd say that not everyone is nice and some people will do bad things to people. I'll tell them that they should never enter a private place with someone who I don't know and that they should do their best to only get help from someone who works at whatever place we're at so they don't leave. Also I'll probably give them a basic phone so they can call me or the police if they need to. The thought of losing a kid is brutal.

Edited by Xcrasy sevX: 2/8/2015 12:07:15 AMI think that a less extreme version of this would be acceptable. Having the guy drive him off and say he wouldnt see his mom again, let the kid cry and freak then stop off near his mom and have the disscusion. But the whole gun and blindfold and basemt is to far, that kids guna be twitchy for along time
-
seduce my kids and then halfway through sex be like lol im your dad this is wrong thatll teach them
-
I think they're more likely to give the kid trust issues about his loved ones than a healthy view on strangers by using that strategy...
-
"Don't talk to any grown ups unless I'm around or they're your teacher." "Okay daddy :)" There. Problem solved.
-
-
Jebus... How could that kid ever look at his family with any sense of trust ever again?
-
This is why some people shouldn't have kids.
-
So. -blam!-ing. Stupid. These people are either stupid beyond belief or insane.
-
The worst part for me was hearing it on T.V. and they described the kid as happy, outgoing, and nice to everyone. Why would you want to change a kid like that?
-
Um, holy shit they just traumatized that kid.
-
Scarring this kid for life isn't going to help him, at all. Why not just teach him conventionally? Like, 'use common sense, don't get into a person's car that you don't know?'
-
Probably not......
-
What the actual -blam!-
-
That's just too much. I'm not sure how I'd go about it. I remember my parents were honest about it without going into too much detail, and that worked for me.
-
I am sorry for brothers horrible behavior. I love you and send much love to your loved ones
-
Yeah, that'll teach him for being too nice! -_- why? I mean, what would make this seem like a good idea?
-
Oh my god This is terrible
-
I would make my children watch safeside super chick Btw I hope those parents are thrown in jail
-
Edited by d 6d7565727465: 2/9/2015 4:43:19 AMI really feel sorry for that kid. Teaching safety is one thing, but threatening to shoot him, telling him he's being sold into child trafficking, and threatening to nail him to a fucking shed isn't going to help. Those idiots must've been higher than a plane to think that was a good idea. I hope those assfucks are put in jail honestly.
-
To nice?!?! What the -blam!- is wrong with people now...
-
The stranger gave me her gun...
-
I hope they are saving money for therapy or drug rehab at some point in this boy's life.
-
Doofuses.
-
What the fūck is wrong with these people
