They did not need nerf the other classes, just buff the Pulse Rifles and shotguns in PvE.

Edited by The Smoker II: 2/6/2015 2:11:27 PMBungie answered this directly in the update preview.
"Why did you “nerf” my favorite weapon? Why not make the other ones better and leave mine alone?" Good question! Here’s why: We pay close attention to kill times in all game modes against all combatant types. If we brought up all the other weapons to account for lethality spikes that occur in specific situations, then our TTK (time to kill) would get faster with every patch. It is important to us to keep TTK values such that your arsenal feels lethal, but also both allows for some drama while you fight, and creates opportunities for counter-play when you’re being attacked.
I still use my 300 damage Shadow Price. This nerf particularly degrades low RoF/high impact ARs. I read Bungie's update preview before coming to the forums. I don't agree and did not need you to quote it again. Try a response in your own words with your own thoughts instead of replying after drinking the Kool Aid.

Edited by The Smoker II: 2/6/2015 7:35:09 PMThis nerf needed to happen and across the boards TTK needs to be increased. Longer TTK makes for tougher fights with skill being the decider in encounters instead of who sees who first which greatly rewards camping. I don't drink the Kool Aid I just happen to agree with Bungie on this one. It actually feels odd to be on the side defending what they are doing.

Just because you have a 32 in each class... :) I wish they separated out modifiers, etc between PvE and PvP.
