Obsidian Mind
2 questions:
1. What is the maximum amount of super energy that can be recovered by killing enemies with Nova Bomb while using Obsidian Mind?
2. Do kills from bloom explosions count as kills with the Nova Bomb in terms of replenishing super energy?
It looks to me like each enemy killed with Nova Bomb while wearing Obsidian Mins gives about 10% super energy back. I'm not sure if I have ever killed 10 mobs at once with my Nova Bomb while wearing Obsidian Mind, but I know that I have gotten my super energy back above 50% with one Nova Bomb. However, I run bloom so I don't know if all of that energy was from Nova Bomb/Obsidian Mind alone or if some of the energy was from kills with bloom and gave me super energy, but not the same amount of super energy if the enemy had been killed by the bomb itself. The way that orbs drop makes me think that even if an enemy is killed with a bloom explosion, it still counts as being killed by the Nova Bomb. I haven't done any scientific inquiry, but if no one has answers I might have to do some testing and math *gasp!*

I use it on the thrall maze, and it's amazing because I can wipe out 30+ thralls that are following me and get it back instantly. If you have several warlocks, everyone runs mind and the maze is cake.

13 RepliesTo get the most out of the OM and Bad juju combo, you need to use Embrace the void and Sou rip. Embrace the void, gives you more energy, which could be why you need 10 enemies with the rest using 8. Captains or majors will give you more then a regular enemy.

9 Replies1. I have got (only once, but happened) my whole super back with a well placed Nova. I was using shatter and bloom. You could be right about one death (regardless of tyhe enemy´s rank) giving you 10% back, I have thought the same, and I´ve been using the Obsidian for a while (got it almost a month before Xur sold it. Not saying this to be an "earner"wannabe, just to point out that I have used it longer than others and have observed & experimented more. 2. I don´t think so, because although it´s a modifier for the Nova, it doesn´t register as a kill from the Nova itself. My set for the nova is Angry Magic+Shatter+Bloom because I wanted to use my Nova as a crowd controller move to take down (or damage) huge mobs of enemies at once. This setup has given me the best results of all setups so far. Last but not least: Bad Juju. Give it a try. As some others have said, it also gives you extra energy per kill, so you will be getting extra energy from the Inverse Shadow perk in the helmet, AND the String of Curses perk.

4 RepliesIn the omnigul strike just when the hive spawn at the beginning I can crank out a super every 30 sec to minute maybe less I haven't really timed it. Basically it recharges fully with each use

It's a matter of how much you kill. If you can get a good number of ultras in the blast you'll get more. It's also best to use bad juju in tandem with oblivion mind, along with the three projectile perk. If you want to feel like a god, then use this combo during the fanatic waves in VoG. Got 4 simultaneous nova bombs and made 32 orbs of light. I couldn't see them, but I was told that the ground was glowing. That shit is fun.

Roughly 10 kills with Nova Bomb will fully recharge it.

You can actually get your super back instantly if you get enough kills. Bloom does work too, I use lance and bloom all the time.

Thrall maze in crotas end = full super after full super after full super.

I've recharged my full Nova Bomb by using one bomb on a massive group of enemy

3 RepliesYou can get full super energy back from a good nova bomb. Just have to find a big group. Yes the leftover field still counts. You never get too many out of it though since AI avoids them.

It seems to take ~8 kills to refill your entire super with Obsidian Mind. Go to "We've woken the Hive!" and toss a Nova Bomb at all the Thrall that rush out the door, you can get 3-4 supers out in a row as each wave rushes out, die, repeat, kill 3 or more enemies with a single super use 20 times, done.

In the abyss I get my super at every lamp after each nova.

If you kill enough with it, you'll get full super back. Normally if you have a trail of thrall attacking you in the abyss, one NB will give you one in return.

I just did the Omnigul strike and got my full super back 3-4 times in a row when the thrall were charging in. Might have been able to get 5 if I didn't run out of them. The refill seems to take in account the full number of enemies killed by it, and unlike the number of orbs dropped, it is not capped (at this time)

4 RepliesIt's kind of hard to determine if kills from a bloom explosion count as nova bomb kills. Since they are kills, they will of course give you some super energy. Inverse shadow will increase the super energy you would normally get from one of those kills anyway. My guess is that the Insatiable perk for NB kills does NOT proc on bloom kills. The issue can be tested. But since bloom works so well with axiom bolt, and energy drain doesn't stack, I tend to just enjoy the mayhem and not worry about the details. I wish bloom procced on all void kills. We need more skill/weapon interactions. Sunsingers touch of flame and Viking funeral should proc on solar weapons too. Warlocks should be the burst dps kings. Titans can make orbs from heavy weapons and normal melees, and hunters have plenty of weapon affecting skills. Warlocks gaining extra effects for specific weapon elements would be cool without being OP. Especially if these only procced on pve kills.

1 ReplyIf you go into Skywatch, through the thrall room up to where the Hive is fighting the Fallen... I have fired a Nova bomb into the group and gotten all my super back. I'm blanking on what you mean by 'bloom' explosions.
