What do you guys think of this!? I've been noticing a HUGE decline in my friends who play Destiny still! Most of my REAL LIFE friends all stopped playing except me and others whom I met online have quit as well! Two of my old clans have vanished! My friends list slashed in half!
EDIT: out of my old clan and 182 friends on PSN, all of which used to play destiny, there are 72 online and 2 of them are playing Destiny! So if this trend continues its going to be slim pickens! I feel like its getting worse by the day! **PLEASE BUMP THIS UP so Bungie will see this!***
Why do you think players are quitting? Do you know of anyone else who has quit? Chime in let us know why you will quit playing or not? Cheers!

I'm out of things to do. That's the only reason. Had how not been delayed Id still be hitting it hard. Now I just help buddies. Not as much fun. But still good. How need to come out now.
-
I've noticed similar. Used to have 3 pages of friends playing destiny daily. People one party could have 2 raids and a nightfall going on and people were jumping from game to game as needed. These days we run the raids with 4 or 5 and that's across three clans! Everyone says they're coming back when the DLC drops, I even bought borderlands yesterday.
-
Because reasons
also they'll be back for HoW
-
I just got all exotic weapons this week and have had all the raid weapons and have my Titan, warlock, and hunter all at 32. So I feel done until house of wolfs. I'll still play if my friends are on but that's it
-
Because it's got terrible replay value :T
-
No extra free content is a downer....
-
It will pick up when new DLC drops. Honestly pvp is what all games have used to keep people going between content drops and bungie really screwed up in that area. If there was global ranking, private matches and more game modes people would have something to fall back on.

Edited by DjNormal: 3/28/2015 4:10:00 PMMy clan is doing fine, but it's been around pre-Destiny in other games. I just met them this year, but they are pretty awesome people. I have about 20 people who I know well and another 30 I've met through LFG. I have between 10-20 online at any given time and usually 40-ish on Tuesdays and a fair amount on weekends. So, I guess it depends on who your friends are. My cousin is one of the people on my friends list. He played until The Dark Below and then quit, he said he'd be back after HoW, so he wouldn't have his progress reset again for a while. The game is also in a lull between "expansions." The same thing happens in most online games, when the content grows stale, most people only show up for reset day and some PVP. You'll see your friends list full on HoW release day (you'll probably see everything leggy as fook as well). We all treat Destiny like it's an MMO. But we forget that it's a semi-casual shooter for teens with limited playtime. Bungie clearly misread their audience and gave us content for ADD kids and not OCD adults with a fetish for collecting exotics. HoW is around the corner though, we'll be at it again soon enough. My bigger concern is the huge gap before the comet expansion... If Bungie leaves us all hanging with another TDB for 6+ months, a lot of people will be upset. They probably won't quit though. Anyway, I gotta get back to farming blood echos... *shakes fist at Bloodborne* And yes, you can go play other games, it won't hurt Bungie's feelings. EDIT: Bungie really needs to do something to liven up PVP. It's what the PVP folks do all the time and what the PVE players do when they've got all their gear. Without a more attractive/fun PVP game, numbers will slip a lot in the lulls. I probably won't PVP regardless, but I know most people would.

I know alot of players who have quit. They're all still in my friends list and I see them playing other games or watching movies. Since I'm retired I played a ton out of the last IB and there were several matches where it sent us in 4 vs 4. I've waited 10-15 minutes for IB matches to reach 6 and had to back out and try again. I've also had to wait for weekly heroics to get 3, hell, or even ROC strikes to reach 3. I suspect it'll pick up again once we get nearer HoW. Cheers

I've got a over a thousand hours and I haven't played another game since Destiny launched. That being said, Borderlands just came out and I've never played it before. I'm making the switch over until Witcher 3 and then I'll probably be back for HOW. It's become a habit to do all the weekly activities at the Tuesday reset so I may still do those but that really depends on how much I enjoy Borderlands. I've got nothing left to do on Destiny, all exotic weapons and armors maxed, multiples of all raid weapons across characters so yeah, I'm waiting for new content.
-
i quit because i cant get the gun i want. dont worry, ill get around to posting atleast a 500 word essay explaining why i quit in detail soon. i promise.
-
Because people think this is all the Destiny game (as a series has to offer). They think this is the onlyyyy story Destiny has. Guarantee you they will come crawling back once Destiny 2 or even Comet launches.
-
Many over think things. People who leave are just waiting for content.
-
Edited by Oldman73: 3/28/2015 4:02:14 PMThey've likely hit 32 and found it pointless to log in since there's nothing left to offer. I play on both Xbox one and ps4 and as of last night for all classes to 32 between them all and have no reason to play anymore. Open world exploration with real world PvP like Warcraft used to offer before pvp gear killed it instead of crucible would be good but then I have Planetside2 for that and guildwars 2. It's a real shame because I love destiny.
-
Lets face it. The real gaming community's population comes from PVP players. The pvp mechanics on this game arent even subpar. If they would just follow the pvp mechanics of SUCCESSFUL first person shooters this game would be 90% better. Stop catering to children bungie and make a real game for those that fund and invest into you.
-
Besides the lack of story and everyone's armor eventually looking the same in the end, let's see... You do the same... Exact... Things... Over... And over... Again...
-
Larger variety of games coming out
-
I don't play it as often now because of repetition and lack of content. I don't mind the PVP aspect though.
-
I have all the gear I need/want.. I'll slowly lvl a few weapons until how drops. In the mean time I'll be playing mostly bl2 and a bit of bfh. Destiny won't die for me until I beat how hard and star wars is released.
-
Edited by RebornV3: 3/28/2015 3:55:20 PMSimply better games are out now when Destiny released on next gen there was absolutely no games but we all know how mediocre Destiny is people have moved on to bigger and better things. I play Destiny at most once a week and with Neverwinter out on the 31st I probably will be gone for good to.
-
Done everything, have everything, crucible is full of people with bad connections. Bloodborne, gta heists,...
-
I play my nightfalls and weeklies. I have every piece of raid gear from Crota and VOG. They are all leveled. I have no reason to keep playing. Nothing to look forward to, nothing to work towards. Shit happens. People hit content walls. I ran face first into mine. 900 hrs in. Nbd get my fix every Tuesday and then just wait til HoW.
-
Cuz the game is ass now I just hit my 3rd lvl 32 and even I don't like it. I just quit after getting the last one. This game gives no free content so it will die. Biggest waste of potential I've ever seen. Everyone I know who has it has quit
-
All burnt out, the game needs new content and the repetitive grind has reached its peak for some players. Also new titles have lured players away.
I for one am thoroughly enjoying Borderlands
Just burnt out. I have all exotics and all raid gear. Ill be back for how
