Word of CROTA? Your thoughts...
I personally like the word of Crota. Void damage, and the white nail perk...
The handling on this weapon is quite nice, and tell me what you think

The weapon has a broken perk, has poor impact, and has a ridiculously low reserve ammo count. The perk should be reworked as a shrieker death blast on crit kill, impact should be raised to be in line with Fatebringer, and the reserve ammo should be 96 unboosted.

I want to use it but keep going back to fatebringer. Mostly because of firefly.

It definitely has its uses, great for dropping Void shields quickly, I love, love the combination of the rate of fire with Zen Moment. The only thing is, the Phantom Gift perk is incredibly underwhelming. Extra rounds? Meh. I know fans of this weapon don't want to hear the comparisons to Fatebringer but that's the only thing it can be compared to and unlike FB this weapon is just missing it's "wow" factor. I highly doubt they're going to tweak this weapon because they've only tweaked exotics in the past and it will likely remain the way it is but that's okay, it's a good weapon, just not great.

It's ok, not great (outside of void burn). I've got 5 so far, and sharded three. I'll probably only keep one of the two. Only reason I'm even keeping a second is I made the mistake of fully upgrading my first one before learning its phantom gift perk was bugged when combined with hive disruptor.

People underestimate it because it's not Fatebringer....Fatebringer is good for small crowd controls and arc burn nightfalls,but I used Word of Crota both in PVE and PvP and I think it's really good especially with hammer forged,more DPS with Phatom Gift and did really good for me in Void Burn Nightfall

I use it against...well nothing. I'm not a fan of the perks. When I try to use the gun, I get drawn back to the Fatebringer.

I leveled up 1 of the 3 I got the first 3 times I beat Crota in HM the 1st day I got it. I used it a few days and dismantled the other 2. I'll stick with Hawkmoon, TLW and Thorn.

Unimpressed with it stock, I'm curious to see how effective I am with phantom gift, I just can't see it outgunning Fatebringer for me. It'll be a shame to see Fatebringer go once House of Wolves drops, although you can assume that the new raid handcannon will be solar, so some possibility for some mighty explosions with that one.

I've been thinking about this a lot. When the Vision of Confluence came out everyone was baffled. Truly what makes it great is the full auto feature and the solar damage. The other perks are not essential. Word of Crota is the same way. It is by far the best void gun in the game now, and the perks are solid but not great.

Its amazing. Anyone whos says otherwise has not leveled it to 331 or are just living in the past with the fatebringer. Higher damage output, Has hive major disruptor. .. even more damage. Faster rate of fire, with a more tolerable recoil than FB and though it has no firefly. It has explosive rounds. All in all its my new go to gun in pve for now.

I got tired of sticking to `1 or 2 weapons and have leaned to enjoy a variety of them for different situations. Word of Crota made short work of the lv 30 weekly for me yesterday with the void burn on it. Although, I just got the Fang last night and am pumped to max it out and destroy things.

1 ReplyYa, that peek isn't white nail. It has a "chance" to return one shot to the chamber. Thats not even worth a perk.

It's a nice gun but here is my comparison: At 300 FateBringer is amazing, my personal favorite and what I think is the most effective weapon in the game at that time. Word does not have the same effect at 331.

Doesn't sit right for me, and it looks awful, void damage is the only good thing about this hand cannon.
