I have a 2010 LG 60" plasma, Model PZ950. After turning off my PS4 I've never had any visual traces on the screen. Seems your TV (or that particular model) has a flaw or defect.

It is more likely a problem with the 3d enabled 2011-2013 panasonic plasmas. Seems that is the trend I read by peopke who have voiced their concerns. For some reason they are more subseptible to image retention. Most of this image retention goes away once you watch something or change games. This image retention from destiny is so far over the top that the recover rate is so much slower then how fast the da age occurs.

More than likely he's played for 10 plus hours a day causing massive heating within. With moderate gaming it shouldn't happen. It's not a defect it's just how plasmas work.

I've had plenty of days where I play +10 hours. No damage here. Like I said, his TV in particular or the model must hace a flaw or defect. Another possibility would be that OP didn't "warm up" his TV when he bought it. Can't remember how I did it, but you have to run a program or follow instructions the first time you start your plasma. So, no need to talk down on plasmas in general. By the way, when I start my ps4, the tv switches automatically to "game mode". Not choosing that mode by default could also be a reason for the damage done.
