Ya I had a western tv or it had a w on it and the old xbox360 dashboard was engraved in it but it did fade and come back but I now have a 2012 or 13 sony smart tv it has led I suppose. I don't think they make plasma Tv's anymore or some company's do. But I see why it would leave it like that but if ur problem is fixed watch a movie or something a day to let the screen get different colors and other things so it doesn't show the same symbols on the screen but I'm sorry for u.
