Alts - level up new weapons or just transfer?
So as title suggests, how do you guys do it? I have some spare weapons, suros etc, but not full spare setup. Im quite ocd about cleanliness of my bank etc, and am having trouble deciding whether to dismantle my spare weapons and just transfer the weapons each time i change what char im playing rather than levellig up and spending mats on weapons i already have. How do you folk do it?

Any repeat items, pick a char. Level it and leave one with it. Leave the copy in vault to bounce/level then assign it or keep bouncing depending on utility. Leave glimmer aids with each char. Because once you combine you cannot devide. Get some therapy for your ocd and that should do it.

Transfer all guns. Keep "placeholder" guns around to make the switch easy and keep it possible to use all of the guns you like. 3x characters doing bounties= Guns leveled up fast

There's room for multiple of the same exotics? Armor? Really? Oh wait, no there isn't... I transfer.

I would start off transferring and slowly level up weapons, simply to make it easier on you and your friends. I used to be the guy that would take 10 minutes changing weapons, delaying nightfalls and stuff

ice breaker, fatebringer, black hammer, murmur and vision of confluence for all my chars. working on 3rd gally though.

I use mine as mules and as 'fairly good' for simpler things like normal raids and Nightfalls (to max rewards). All else is run on main. Done that since Crota came out, progressing through VOG was slow and RNG still a bitch.

I keep a basic set on each guardian and only transfer the special weapons I don't have duplicates. Example... Basic set: Fatebringer/Abyss Defiant, Icebreaker (yes I bought three lol), Corrective Measure/Hezen Vengeance The basic is the same for every character. All-around weapons good even for the raids. And they each have special weapons I don't switch around often, such as Hawkmoon, Mythoclast, Thorn, Suros. What I do switch around is what I don't have duplicates: Gjallarhorn, Hunger of Crota, Black Hammer, Red Death (for health regen only lol). I have no patience (or time) to keep track of stuff to switch around. I just spend some time doing bounties and upgrade the best weapons. What I know I won't bother using is dismantled, such as most Vanguard and Faction weapons. No mercy! Except for exotics, they're hard to get.

I transfer everything between characters. There's 5-6 of each weapon class I have leveled up that's good for any possible situation. I have a few dupes I could level up but unless I get a complete set I'll have to go to the tower to grab the rest regardless.

I have 3 of the good weapons I like to use so I do t have to switch...suros gjalla ib vex (fusion bounty) fatebringer

i already have too many weapons that i might need in certain situations so all duplicates get dismantled and i just transfer all my weapons at once

I transfer weapons. There are too many to keep in the vault now as it is, so having multiples of everything is just silly. Armor is the one thing that stays on my guys most of the time. I play my two warlocks as separate characters so only weapons are shared between them.

I use a different weapon set for each character.

I transfer. I even transfer armor between my two hunters. The worst thing is forgetting, but other than that, it's not really a major issue.

Transfer to lvl it up. When you get 3 of the same weapons you like there will be no need to transfer after there all max lvl.

At first switch weapons. But when I do bounties I switch out when I turn them in. Once I have leveled weapons I slowly stop transferring certain ones.

just started using my alt last week..i transfer weapons and gear... Alts definitely help...i was able to get Suros, Blackhammer, Raid helm and Ghorn all in the same week

I transfer all of my exotic weapons between characters. I needed the shards and it's just easier for me. Though by this point I have enough exotics to have a diverse playstyle between characters.

For instance, the only class I think should use a sniper rifle is a Hunter, so she has my Ice Breaker (as well as a Suros Regime and The Last Word). My Warlock has Thorn and Bad Juju, and my Titan has Universal Remote and Invective. So that way they all have their own Exotics to level.

Level them all up. Transferring is annoying.

I level all mine up, I hate transferring between characters. RNG has blessed me though, I've got 3 of each of the guns I use most. 3 Gallys, Icebreakers, raid weapons....

I do both, wish I hadn't dismantled some doubles but oh well, it's nice not to have to swap every weapon over all the time.

I keep two legendary Scout Rifles on each one for perk purposes, one Firefly and one with Range, and situationally for bounties. Going to have to start thinning the ranks though. Can't pick up greens for mats anymore. Most likely going to pare down all the VoG stuff to one of each except for FB right now. Going to shard the extra SGA's and possibly Truth. Sharding extra Thorn's and Bad Juju's as I get them. Sharded a Monte Carlo/Hard Light/Pocket Infinity 1.0 last week because of duplicates. I am keeping an Abyss Defiant on each character but will most likely keep only one copy of anything else I get because none of the CE weapons are outstanding compared to the couple of 331 Exotics and DLC Legendaries I carry. If I manage to pull down a third Gjallarhorn I will most likely keep one of those always so I never have to switch it.
