Finally fixed my daughter's destiny zoo problem (caterpillars, baboons, etc) and comcast with technicolor modems.
Solution was to set up a separate router using tomato or dd-wrt and a vpn account with IPVanish.
I am visiting my daughter right now here in San Jose, CA. I saw first hand how often she would get kicked out of destiny. She was getting booted out every time she tried to join a public event, or even randomly in the middle of a strike. This was happening every 15 minutes.
What I did was to get an Asus RT-66U router, install tomato shibby on it, put it right in front of the xbox 360, and set up a vpn link (openvpn) to IPVanish's servers in Seattle. We've been playing all day today and destiny has been rock solid.
Also, I had brought down another xbox 360, I also set that one up for myself to play on. For this one, I used an Asus RT-N16 router flashed with DD-WRT, also set up to vpn into IPVanish's servers (this time I tried their San Jose servers).
Both of us were able to play all day on destiny without being kicked off even once!
Total cost : around $100 - $150 per router,
$6 per month for the ipvanish account.
Being able to play Destiny uninterrupted: priceless sigh of relief!

We use an apple router. My wife and I play, so we're running 2x PS4 at the same time. It took me a bit of digging on the internet but I basically just set up individual IP#s for each PS4 and then got the ports to forward from the Sony support website. Maybe have an issue once or twice a week. But it seems to be more on the server side than out connection (entire raid team being kicked) Doing this got NAT Type 2 which seemed to be the issue.
